Story
Meet Thackery Binx — Our FIV+ Heart-Stealer Thackery Binx showed up at our facility one cold day, looking for nothing more than a warm place and a little kindness. One of our board members took one look at him shivering outside and said, “No way he’s staying out here alone." That was the moment this big-hearted black DSH finally got his chance. We’re pretty sure Thackery Binx spent most of his two years surviving outdoors — no soft beds, no guaranteed meals, no one to love him back. And still… he’s nothing but love. He rubs on legs. He leans in for affection. He gives that slow, grateful blink that says, “Thank you for seeing me.” At his vet appointment, we learned he is FIV positive — and here’s where we want to break the stigma: ✅ FIV is NOT a death sentence. ✅ FIV cats can live long, healthy, joyful lives. ✅ FIV is NOT contagious to humans, dogs, or friendly cats. ✅ Most FIV+ cats live completely normal lives with routine care. Thackery Binx doesn’t know he has a “label.” He just knows he finally feels safe — and he’s ready to pour his whole heart into a family that will see past three little letters. What Thackery Binx needs: • A safe, indoor home • Love (he has plenty to give back) • Someone willing to look at the CAT, not the diagnosis This boy survived the outdoors. Now he deserves to thrive indoors — warm, loved, and finally home. If you want a companion who will truly appreciate every day by your side, Thackery Binx is your boy. Help us break the stigma. Help us give him his forever. If you are interested in adopting this animal from us, please visit our facility at 6301 U.S. Highway 68 East, Benton, KY 42025. Story
Liberty was wandering the streets looking for a bit of kindness and someone to help her with her soon to be born babies. Luckily, a rescue group took her in and just in the nick of time - she gave birth right away to a beautiful litter of 5 babies - 4 calico and one black and white boy. PAWS was called and we opened up a space for this beautiful mom and her babies. Liberty is a beautiful cat with a shy and "standoffish" personality. She is very timid and will take some time to get used to your home. Once she gets to know you, she is ok with being petted at her request but for the most part, she is good with admiring you from afar. It has taken alot of love and patience for her to finally allow me to pick her up and love on her. But if she gets scared or feels threatened, she will scratch and bite to free herself. If you have the and patience to devote to her, she will make it worth your wait! It has been such a joy to be able to pet her and play with her and give her so much love. She really is a wonderful girl that just needs to go at her pace and not be rushed. She is estimated to have been born in June of 2017. She would not do well in a home with small children. She is also petrified of dogs so she will not be adopted to a home with a dog. If interested, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the application. Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet to see if you are a fit for her! Thanks for your interest!!!!
