Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Winston (Winston Churchcat as we like to call him) a beautiful, large, affectionate buddy who loves pets and playtime. Winston is an athletic, high energy boy. He enjoys running and chasing a feather stick. Along with swanky swagger, Winston includes fun and entertaining on his dynamic resume.   If you’ve always wanted a big, soft teddy bear for a companion, then Winston might be your perfect match. He’s a giant fluffy boy coming in at 16 lbs and not an ounce of fat.  His athleticism shows through his ability to make six feet jumps and sprint at fast speeds. Even though he seeks out interaction and snuggles, he also likes to do his own thing and relax by himself.  He is in search of his forever home and is eager to set up a meeting with you. It’s recommended that Winston be the only pet. Winston is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Shadowe! Shadowe is a sweet yet reserved little lady. She would love a little quieter home with a feline friend. Once she warms up she enjoys little scratches under her chin and back. She came into rescue with her sister, Cali, and although Cali typically steals all the attention, Shadowe has been learning to love the attention too. She has been around dogs, cats and all ages of humans and has done well, but definitely would appreciate a quieter home. She also enjoys her catnip toys and chasing feather toys along with sunbathing under the window! Shadowe is from an owner surrender with one sibling. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. You'll be able to enter this pet's name on the second page of the donation form. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 27, 2024, 12:36 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! My name is Duke! I am a big, beautiful grey long hair boy with a white tip at the end of my tail!  I came from a family where I was very loved and I have sooo much love to give back in return. I love to be petted and be by your side.  I am a patient boy - very calm and content. I'd love to be in a quiet home and wouldn't mind being the only kitty....or I'd be happy to have another calm and loving friend.  My favorite food is Fancy Feast Chicken Classic and I'm hoping you have plenty of that in your cabinet for me!    One big thing about me you should know is that I have Feline Immunodeficiency Virus but please don’t let that scare you away from adopting me! Click here to learn more about Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.   Also, when I was first rescued I was diabetic and on medication, but I have been without insulin for almost a year now and doing well!  My future family will need to monitor my daily habits to ensure I stay healthy.   Duke is from owner surrender.   If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
