Story
Oreo was found abandoned in an animal crate on a busy street in Raleigh, NC in July. There was no information left with him. He was very dirty and looked like he hadn't eaten in some time. Oreo was brought home and separated from our other cats to recuperate and get used to being inside another home. Also, he was taken to a vet to be neutered and given some shots. Also the vet said he had an ear infection and heart worms. The vet gave us medication for the ear infection and heart worms. Since his arrival he has become friendly and laid back cat. He's pretty strong and does well with the other cats around him. He doesn't seem to retaliate when another cat hisses at him and usually walks away when that happens. So we don't believe he is confrontational. We're not sure how he does with dogs or children. Unfortunately, we cannot keep him due to a loss of income. We would like to see Oreo go to a comforting home rather than the shelter.

Story
Check out my handsome self-profiling for you. I could be the poster boy for Fall! My name is Sprinkles. If you are looking for a calm, laid-back boy who is happy to lounge and nap, I could be the one for you. I am a little shy around strangers and new surroundings. I hid for two weeks when I came to stay with my foster mom. Being in a new place, it took me some time to learn my new surroundings. Now, I love it there. It could be the same situation at my new home, so if I become part of your family please be patient with me. I like to take my time to get used to a new environment and people. Once I acclimate, I will love you forever. Speaking of love, I love wet food. I hope you will have lots of that for me. Are you interested in adopting Sprinkles or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. Story
HI, Cheddar here and I have a pretty awesome story to tell. See I went from rags to riches in the matter of 24 hours. All the cats on my block say to not let it get in my head because I can end up back on the streets in the blink of an eye. However I have more faith in mankind than that. I know that humans love an adorable clingy cat so I make sure to lay that on thick. I will never go back to the streets with those tricks up my sleeve, and to ensure my kingdom remains in tack I use all the power in my little body to demand all the pets and cuddles I can possibly get. Now here is the thing: my palace must have all the comfy spots a cat can ever want cause well why not, hello I am the center of attention. I may be somewhat of a thief because I just dont think it's fair that the humans here make food for themselves and refuse to share, you must agree right, how rude is that? I mean they do make up for their little flaw by giving me all the play time I could ever dream of. Did you know that they make fuzzy things on a string that don't hurt you? I never thought I could have that much fun spazzing out and playing with that thing. My fosters call it a cat toy and let me just say YES! Now that I have made it off the awful streets and have a luxury life I am looking for a permanent place to claim as my own. I may be a little dopey looking but the vet says I am fine and well that is that so I hope to settle down soon!

Story
Clay is one hand some boy. He is soft and fluffy and oh such a gentleman. He’s shy to start with and hid a bit when he first came to his foster home. Once coming out of his shell he is the sweetest boy. He doesn’t mind being picked up and purrs when he gets kisses. He likes to cuddle on the bed with his foster mom. He’s living with his litter mate Phoebe, younger kittens, and older cats and gets along with everyone. Clay is still shy with the dogs but he’s getting used to them. He would make the perfect addition to anyone’s family. Are you interested in adopting Clay or another JCAPL pet you have seen? Story
When looking at Phoebe it’s like looking at a Disney Princess. Her coloring is so pretty and her fur so soft, even her tail is extra fluffy. Phoebe’s disposition is as sweet as her face. She is a bit more outgoing than her brother Clay. She enjoys playing with her brother and the other foster kittens and cats in the house. She enjoys being petted and loved on while she rests on the cat tree. She hasn’t cuddled with her foster parents yet, but she purrs happily when you give her love.
