Story
I am posting this for my mom Joyce Gary and her brother Doug has gone into assisted living. Sissy is his cat and no one in the family can take Sissy due to allergies. We talked with the Licking County Humane Society in Newark, Ohio and they cannot take Sissy so we got Rehome by Adopt A Pet from them. Thank you and please be in touch with my mom, Joyce Gary, whose contact information is part of this application. She lives in Newark, Ohio and will have access to the cat. Thank you. Jen Powers

Story
Spoily was my dad’s cat. He passed away. She is about 10 years old. She is very large. We don’t pick her up because of her size so unsure if she likes to be held. She is otherwise friendly. We need to find her a home ASAP as we have to move everything out of the house. Unfortunately I cannot keep her d/t severe allergies.

Story
Little Tig came to our rescue after his mom went to a nursing home and was unable to care for him. His world has been turned upside down, and he needs a safe & quiet place to land so that he can regroup. He warms up slowly, but he does learn to trust -- and once he trusts you, he will love you unconditionally, and reward you with big throaty purrs. He completely enjoys chin scratches, and he has elevator butt when he's really into the pets. His coat is thick and so silky soft -- he's more of a medium length fur, and he does enjoy being petted. He uses his litterbox like the good boy he is:) Little Tig is approximately 6 years old; he was previously neutered and ear tipped at that time. He has not been dog tested but did live with other cats. All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. Kittens are spayed/neutered no later than 4 months of age or upon intake if older than that. If you would like to adopt, please fill out the application through the link or the website at -www.whiskersofohio.org - please note that the "I'm interested" tab does NOT act as an application, this should only be used for specific questions before committing to an adoption. We make no breed guarantees, we are a rescue, not a breeder. Please only apply for a specific kitten if you are committed to adopting! Our workers are all volunteers and it takes time to process applications. We are a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, with ZERO paid workers or admins. Free transport is regularly available to Wayne/Holmes County areas! We do have the ability to fly a cat or pair of kittens via Southwest's SWATT program to any location served by Southwest Airlines. It isn't free but has been a great way to transport animals in a timely manner.

Story
Calli is a very sweet girl who was taken in as a friendly stray -- she came to us already spayed and ear tipped. She warms up very quickly and loves chin scratches -- she leans right into you for more; she does not seem to be afraid of dogs but will require an acclimation period with cats. She has a soft purr, and is just the sweetest girl. She does seem to be quite frightened and unsure of other animals (this could most definitely change over time), and she has that calico personality and loves pets and affection on her terms. Calli is chatty and vocal, and talks to her humans. She would do best as an only pet in a quieter household. All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. Story
Kimmy is a sweet, friendly girl who was new to a feeder's colony of cats -- she was found with two other calico girls thought to be littermates, and likely dumped by an uncaring human. Kimmy is all purrs and headbutts, she just wants to be around people and be loved. Kimmy is estimated to be about 8 months old, and has a $125 adoption fee. All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized.
