Story
Quiconque l’adoptera aura une chance incroyable.//Lou is a truly special boy with a heart that’s even bigger than his appetite. At just two years old, he is one of the friendliest, cuddliest, and most affectionate cats you’ll ever meet. He absolutely loves people, and when you walk into the room, he looks up at you and gives the cutest little nod hello every time. Lou can’t meow, but he tries, and his tiny silent “mews” will melt your heart every single time. He’s playful, curious, and gets so excited when it’s mealtime, and he’ll happily show you just how much he enjoys food with his enthusiastic little prances. Lou is FeLV-positive (feline leukemia). The virus may stay dormant or become active, weakening his immune system. He must be the only cat in the household and live indoors only. Regular veterinary follow-up is essential. At night, Lou will curl up right beside you and sleep there until morning. He is truly a loyal, loving companion who just wants to bond deeply with his person. Whoever adopts him will be incredibly lucky

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Afin d'avoir une chance de l'adopter, veuillez remplir notre formulaire d'adoption directement sur notre site web:  https://www.reseausecoursanimal.org/nous-contacter/formulaire-adoption/     Cantaloup was a young stray cat in Berthierville before arriving at the Animal Rescue Network in May 2025. The poor cat had difficulty moving: he walked almost exclusively on his front two legs, dragging the rest behind him. The day after his arrival, he was taken to the veterinary hospital. Horrifyingly, the poor little guy had both hind legs fractured, one fairly high up on the leg and the other near the elbow. No idea how these injuries occurred. Cantaloup showed no other fractures or health problems. The veterinarian did not know if we would be able to save both legs. We sought the advice of expert surgeons. In fact, there was no amputation, but it was complex! His surgery cost about $5,000. He then underwent physical therapy. Cantaloup must take supplements for the rest of his life to prevent osteoarthritis. He is in perfect health, but must not jump from too high a place to avoid injury. Cantaloup is shy and nervous at first because of his difficult start in life, but he is very affectionate and loves to be with his humans once comfortable. He needs to play every day, as he is very energetic. He could live with children who are old enough to understand how to interact with him and respect his limits. He does not like to be handled, but could certainly learn if done correctly. He can live very well with other cats, but they should be young and playful. He would not be a good match for an older cat or a cat that likes its peace and quiet. Cantaloup is an adult cat therefore the adoption fees for him are $290. He is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia (FeLV). You will also be provided with health insurances for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation within the first month following adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).     In order to get a chance to adopt him, please fill out our adoption directly on our website:  https://www.reseausecoursanimal.org/contacts/adoption-form/ Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 6, 2025, 12:23 am
