Story
Introducing Mr. Belding, the feline sensation with a flair for the dramatic and a tail to tell! Hey there, humans! I'm Mr. Belding, the cat who's been through more ups and downs than a roller coaster at a cat carnival. Yup, found myself in a bit of a pickle, couldn't strut my stuff on all fours, but fear not, I'm on the comeback trail! Turns out, my back legs were just on a temporary hiatus, nothing a little R&R couldn't fix. And with a mild case of CH (cerebellar hyperplasia), I’m extra cute and special! Now, let's talk about my favorite obsession: the dressage whip. Oh boy, you'd think I'm auditioning for a feline circus with the way I go bananas over that thing! One minute I'm pouncing on it like a pro, the next I'm expecting a royal grooming session fit for a king of my caliber. But here's the kicker: they say I've got about as many brain cells as there are cat memes on the internet. Yep, that's right, a grand total of two! Who needs smarts when you've got charm, am I right?  In an ideal world, I'd have a buddy to share my antics with, someone to groom me and engage in epic playtime battles. But hey, a cat can dream, can't he? Even if I never become a lap kitty extraordinaire, I'll always be one heck of a special boy, ready to sprinkle some feline magic wherever I go! So there you have it, folks! Mr. Belding, the cat with more charm than a mouse has squeaks and enough puns to keep you chuckling 'til the cows come home. Adopt me, and let the whisker-twitching adventures begin! Mr. Belding =^..^=  ,  DSH Orange Target Tabby ,  Male  ,  DOB 4/7/2022 Adoption Application - Cat Around Town ProjectApril 29, 2024, 6:53 pm

Story
Hey there, I'm Firefly – the feline with a glow that's a bit subtle at first, but trust me, it's worth the wait! Picture this: a shy boy who's just waiting for the right moment to spread his wings and shine bright. That's me! I thrive in a calm and patient environment, where I can take my time to warm up and show my true colors. Now, let's talk about my favorite pastimes – laser pointers and churus. There's nothing quite like chasing that elusive red dot or indulging in the crunchy goodness of a tasty treat. It's like a mini adventure every time! While I may not be your typical lap cat, don't let that fool you – I still crave affection, but on my own terms. When I'm in the mood, I'll come over for some pets and maybe even a snuggle or two. Just give me space to do things my way, and we'll get along purrfectly. So, if you're looking for a furry friend who's a little shy but has a heart of gold, look no further – Firefly's here to light up your life, one gentle flicker at a time!   Firefly =^..^=  , DMH Orange Tabby/White , Male , DOB 5/12/2020 Adoption Application - Cat Around Town ProjectApril 29, 2024, 6:53 pm

Story
Lucille is not your ordinary cat; she's a bundle of energy and enthusiasm wrapped in a furry coat. With her lively personality and love for play, she brings joy and excitement to any household lucky enough to have her. From the moment you meet Lucille, her sociable nature shines through. She thrives on interaction and craves attention from her human companions. Whether it's a gentle stroke on her soft fur or a cozy snuggle session on the couch, Lucille revels in the warmth of companionship. But Lucille isn't just a cuddlebug; she's a playful adventurer at heart. With a penchant for excitement, she's always where the action is. You'll often find her darting around the house, chasing after feather wands or pouncing on anything that moves. Her love for play knows no bounds, and she's constantly seeking out new ways to engage her curious mind and agile body. One of Lucille's favorite pastimes is birdwatching. With a keen eye and quick reflexes, she perches herself by the window, captivated by the flurry of activity outside. The sight of chirping birds and fluttering wings brings out her inner hunter, and she watches with fascination, imagining herself in the midst of the action. But Lucille's adventurous spirit doesn't end there; she's also a skilled climber. Give her a cat tree or a towering shelf, and she'll ascend to new heights with grace and agility. From her elevated vantage point, she surveys her domain with a sense of pride, reveling in the thrill of exploration. However, Lucille's social nature has a sensitive side too. She may occasionally vocalize her feelings, especially when left alone. Her plaintive cries serve as a gentle reminder of her need for companionship and affection. To keep her content, it's important to shower her with love and attention, ensuring she feels secure and cherished at all times. In summary, Lucille is a social butterfly, a playful adventurer, and a loving companion all rolled into one. With her boundless energy and zest for life, she enriches the lives of those around her, filling every moment with laughter, love, and endless joy. If you're interested in adopting Lucille, please fill out our online application at windyridgerescue.org/applicationIf you are interesting in meeting any of our pets, the process is to complete an application.  It can be downloaded as a pdf document from our website and submitted by email to WindyRidgeRescue@gmail.com  as a scanned document or as photos OR can be completed entirely online. Both links are in the header of our website.   Because we are foster based, we require an approved application to schedule a meet and greet. We feel that is fair to our fosters and rescues so every meet and greet can result in an adoption. A limited number of cats are showcased at Peetco in Sumter, SC weekly.  &#226&#128&#139We do not have set adoption fees for dogs, but hope adopters will donate generously so we can rescue more. The medical care for every dog can easily exceed the adoption donation.  Average adoption fees for dogs in the area range from $175 up to $450. Your generous adoption donations help us continue our programs of providing quality food and medical care to those who pass through our fosters.  We ask for a minimum adoption donation of $70 for cats who are not yet altered and $100 for cats who are already spayed or neutered, regardless of age.  Please bring your own carrier for the ride home!  Each cat is up to date on vaccinations, dewormer, and microchipped.  Larger donations are always welcome so we can rescue more.  Medical care for each cat easily exceeds the minimum donation.   &#226&#128&#139As with every rescue, our resources are limited and the need for rescue help is unlimited. Your generosity helps us to rescue more and funds the only Trap Neuter Return Program in the county.  It's like tossing $100 bills in the woods when we trap a cat, vaccinate and spay or neuter that cat and then return them to the colony. Young kittens are tamed and available for adoption. We are alone doing this in our area. Your increased donation at the time of adoption can help us cover costs for the cat becoming part of your family as well as a feral to prevent more feral litters.  &#226&#128&#139Adopting or fostering for a rescue frees up a space where a new rescue can reside.  &#226&#128&#139If you can't adopt or foster, than please consider donating.  April 29, 2024, 5:08 pm

Story
Meet Misty, the epitome of softness and sass in feline form. With her velvety fur and spirited personality, Misty captivates the hearts of all who have the pleasure of meeting her. Despite her petite size, Misty exudes a confidence that shines through in her occasional moments of sassiness. She knows what she likes and isn't afraid to let you know when she prefers petting over being held. Misty's independent spirit is part of her charm, and she brings a touch of spunk to every interaction. But beneath her occasional sassiness lies a heart full of love and affection. Misty adores snuggling with her human companions, reveling in the warmth and comfort of their presence. While she may prefer snuggling on her own terms, Misty's love knows no bounds, and she cherishes the moments spent in close companionship. One of Misty's favorite pastimes is birdwatching from the window, where she can observe the world outside with fascination and curiosity. Watching her gaze intently at the fluttering birds is a testament to her playful and inquisitive nature, bringing joy to all who witness her excitement. Despite being FIV+, Misty harbors no ill will towards other kitties and enjoys their company immensely. As long as they reciprocate her affection, Misty poses no threat to her feline companions and is happy to share her love and companionship with them. In essence, Misty is more than just a soft and sassy kitty; she is a loving companion, a playful spirit, and a cherished member of the family. With her independent nature and boundless affection, Misty brings joy and laughter to every moment shared with her.
