Aubree is a sweet, loving kitty that was part of colony. She came to us with an entropion which is an abnormal inward rolling of the upper or lower eyelids, causing abnormal, painful friction with the surface of the eye. She is currently waiting to weigh enough for surgery which the rescue will pay for IF you use our vet of choice in Sumter, SC. She loves to cuddle and play. But don't be fooled by her hard playing because she's a great cuddler too and loves getting attention. If you are interested in meeting any of our pets, the process is to complete an application. It can be downloaded as a pdf document from our website and submitted by email to WindyRidgeRescue@gmail.com as a scanned document or as photos OR can be completed entirely online. Both links are in the header of our website. Because we are foster based, we require an approved application to schedule a meet and greet. We feel that is fair to our fosters and rescues so every meet and greet can result in an adoption. We ask for a minimum adoption donation of $70 for cats that are unaltered and $100 for cats that are altered. regardless of age. Each cat is up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. Larger donations are always welcome so we can rescue more. Medical care for each cat easily exceeds the minimum donation. As with every rescue, our resources are limited and the need for rescue help is unlimited. Your generosity helps us to rescue more. Adopting or fostering for a rescue frees up a space where a new rescue can reside. A limited number of cats are showcased at Peetco in Sumter, SC weekly. ​We do not have set adoption fees for dogs, but hope adopters will donate generously so we can rescue more. The medical care for every dog can easily exceed the adoption donation. Average adoption fees for dogs in the area range from $175 up to $450. Your generous adoption donations help us continue our programs of providing quality food and medical care to those who pass through our fosters. It's like tossing $100 bills in the woods when we trap a cat, vaccinate and spay or neuter that cat and then return them to the colony. Young kittens are tamed and available for adoption. We are alone doing this in our area.
