I found Phantom in my backyard with a large open wound on his neck. My original plan was to get him medical care and have him transferred to a shelter, but every shelter and rescue I contacted was full and unable to take him in. Since I couldn't leave him without help, I kept him and paid for his treatment. He has since fully recovered (he does have a scar and missing fur) and is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped (the microchip just hasn't been registered yet). I've had Phantom for about three months and was hoping my older cat would eventually accept him, but unfortunately that hasn't happened. Phantom has never shown any aggression toward my cat and actually seems uninterested in him, but my older cat is very unhappy, so we've had to keep them separated. Phantom is an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy who gets along great with our dog. This has been a very difficult decision, but he deserves a home where he can be out, loved, and not have to live separated from another cat.
