You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.May 2023 addendum:  Tootie's adopter who had him for over a year died in March of 2023.  We were asked by his family to find a new home for him  He is back at the TAL foster care and adoption center and is well adjusted.  We feel that he is ready for a new owner.  He is a loving cat who craves hands on attention.  Still is reserved in new situations but given a little time in a new home, he ill be a wonderful companion and pet.     I was rescued from downtown Texarkana when very young, and cared for in the home of a foster, but I am very, very shy.  I'm neutered, microchipped, and have had all my 1st year vaccines.  Tootie is a very sweet kitten, and will do well in a quiet environment with lots of love & attention.  He and his sister, Koko, are very attached to each other.  She is very sensitive.  Do not recommend children or dogs.   All of our adoptable animals are up to date on routine vaccinations, microchipped and spayed or neutered.  If the animal is too young a certificate for the spay/neuter is included in the adoption fee.  Please CLICK HERE to complete our online adoption application. Many of our animals can be seen at our adoption center located at 5820 Richmond Rd, Texarkana, TX on Saturdays between 10 am - 3 pm. To make arrangements to meet any of our animals, please call us at 1-877-525-4825, option 1.   Texarkana Animal League is a 501c3 non profit and all donations are tax deductible. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 6:11 pm

We received her after she was spayed and vetted, and her babies went to one of our fosters. She is now looking for her furever home. Ms. Kitty is a beautiful Tortie with gorgeous markings. She is very shy but also very sweet with no aggression issues. She just needs a calm loving person to take her in and show her that people can be loving and kind. She will wind up being the best lap baby ever! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 6:11 pm

Story
Hello, everyone! My name is Rascal, and I`m a very handsome boy, around 12 years of age! But don`t let my age scare you because cats can live to be in their 20`s! I was brought to the shelter after being in a home for about 1 1/2 years because they couldn`t keep me anymore, and I don`t know my history before that. I`m a little upset being here at the shelter because it`s very stressful to not have a home anymore, plus there are other kitties here too that I don`t know. But one thing that the shelter staff has discovered that makes me happy is catnip---I LOVE that stuff! I`ve had some issues with being constipated, but I seem to be doing okay with that. But there might be something else going on, because I don`t really like my hip area being touched---I`m not sure why. If you adopt me, please take me to your veterinarian for a thorough exam so we can find out if something is going on and make me feel better! I would probably thrive in a calm and quiet home, with no kids, and preferrable no other animals because I want all of your attention for myself! I`ve already been neutered, and I will be microchipped and vaccinated before I leave. All I want is a safe, loving, FOREVER home, so please consider giving an older cat like me a new life and a new beginning because I deserve it! I would make a great companion for the right purr-son, and I`m hoping that`s YOU! See you soon!

Story
Hi friends, my name is Soobie! I`m a handsome, big boy kitty, around two years in age. I got into a little bit of trouble, and that`s why I was brought to the shelter originally. I was visiting with someone in the neighborhood and when they tried to pet me, I bit them! I wasn`t trying to be mean, I just didn`t want to be petted at that time. After spending some time in quarantine, I am now out and available for adoption! I would love to be adopted by a cat experienced person, as I can be just a little sassy some times---cat people understand this. But I am friendly and lovable! And if you want to be my best friend, catnip is the way to my heart! I love smelling it and rolling around in it! And some toys and a comfy would be great too. Before I go home with you, I will be neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you can give me a loving and safe FOREVER home, I would love to meet you!

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Mickey, and I`m a beautiful male Russian Blue kitty, around one year in age. I have a brother named Mickey too! We had a loving home, but sadly, our person passed away and no one in the family could take us in. So we were brought to the shelter so that we could find a FOREVER home, preferrable together. Having two cats is not only double the fun, but we would also have a lifetime playmate and a companion to keep us company when you`re away. We are both very friendly and loving, and would get along with other animals. We must be indoor-only cats, as it`s too dangerous for a kitty to be outdoors with no human to protect them. But if you provide us with lots of toys and fun things to do, and a comfy bed by a sunny window, we would be so happy! We`ve both already been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, so we`re ready to go! If you would like to meet us, come to the shelter today! We hope to see you soon!

Story
Hello, friends! My name is Starlet, and I`m a young female Tortie kitty, who`s absolutely beautiful and friendly! I came to the shelter after being found in a neighborhood, and it didn`t appear that I had a home. And no one ever came to claim me, so I`m available for adoption. I`m looking for a FOREVER home this time, with someone who will love me for the rest of my life! I`m easy to get along with, and I love attention. I might get along with other cats too, so if you have one, that should be fine. I need to be an indoor-only kitty, to keep me safe and protect from outside dangers. But lots of toys and a comfy bed for me would be amazing and will keep me happy! I`ve already been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, so I`m ready to go! If you`re looking for a real sweetheart, please come meet me today!
