Very loving, with a very calm demeanor, looking for an indoor home. Loves to lay on my chest and purr, and headbutt my nose. Affectionate, petting always gets the back end raised up. Has the softest fur, which is why I call him velvet. Just a very happy little sweetheart. Playful. Favorite toy is his little catnip mouse. A little shy with strangers at first but responds to kitty treats pretty readily. Was doing trap/neuter/release on a colony at church, but two little kittens were too sweet to be put back outside. Fully vetted, tested for fiv/feleuk, vaccinated for rabies, fvrcp, feleuk and followed with a fvrcp booster. Neutered. And worm med just for good measure. Meet Ellis! Ellis is an 8-week-old female short-haired kitten who came to Rockwall Adoptions with her two siblings after being found outside. The family who initially took them in quickly realized they were not prepared to care for three young kittens long-term, so they surrendered them to give them the best chance at finding safe, permanent homes. Ellis had a very uncertain start to life and came to us frightened and under-socialized. Since arriving, she has begun making steady progress. She is now tolerant of being handled and is slowly learning that human interaction does not have to be scary. Ellis is still shy and cautious, and she is not seeking out affection yet, but she is beginning to relax more with consistent, gentle handling. She will need an adopter who understands that trust may take time and who is willing to continue helping her build confidence through routine, patience, and positive socialization. Ellis may need a little more encouragement than some kittens, but with the right person, she has every opportunity to continue opening up and learning what it means to feel secure in a loving home.
