Betsy is shy and startles easily, so she needs a quiet, serene home and time to warm up without young children. Betsy’s favorite safe place is a tall window perch, where she quietly observes. Once she feels safe, she loves her soft fur being petted as she purrs sweetly. You can see in her eyes how much she wants that connection — she’s just too shy to ask. Once she trusts you, she is ok being held on her terms. She could be a wonderful solo kitty for someone home often or join a home with other kitties with proper introduction. Hi there - my name is Jordyn! When I was a kitten I was found all by myself & taken to a shelter where I wasn't eating well so CAWS took me in to find my forever home. I was adopted & had a family for a couple years but then they had human kids and decided to give me back to CAWS. My foster mom tells me all the time that I'm an adorable girl, so I'm sure you'll think so too. I have medium length hair that is really soft & makes me look fluffy. I love other cats & one of the best things in the world is to be in a cuddle pile with them for a nap! I will need another cat to curl up with up in my new home because, to be honest, I may like other cats better than people. I love to get pets and attention but I do not like to be picked up and carried around. I've lived with a calm dog in the past, so I think a nice dog who won't bother me would be OK. Patches is a senior girl who came to us after a life that we don't believe was always very kind to her. For the last 6–7 months, a caring person began looking out for her and helping her get healthier. Eventually, Patches found herself at the shelter, but with a mouth causing her tremendous pain and significant dental care ahead of her, the cost of treatment became a barrier for that kind human. That's how Patches came to Whiskers. And perhaps the most beautiful part of her story is watching her change a little more every day. You can actually see her beginning to trust kindness, leaning into a gentle touch, relaxing when someone speaks softly to her, and discovering that being cared for doesn't have to hurt or come with strings attached. Patches needs more than just an adopter. She needs a truly special human who understands that earning the heart of a senior girl like her is a privilege. Someone patient and gentle who will continue showing her, day after day, that the hard part is over. We fought with everything we had to save his life, and today he is the happiest, healthiest boy you could ever hope to meet. Watching him thrive has been one of our greatest joys! Mojo is equal parts playful goofball and devoted cuddle bug. He loves snuggling with his humans, soaking up the sunshine from a cozy windowsill, and taking his self-appointed role as supervisor of all human bathroom activities very seriously. (Privacy? He's never heard of it.) When it's time to play, Mojo is all in! He loves aerial wand toys, chirping bird toys, cat trees, and chasing balls across the floor. Once he's "captured" his prey, he'll proudly parade through the house with his trophy in his mouth, announcing his successful hunt with the cutest little victory call until his humans properly admire his skills. Treats are considered an appropriate reward for a job well done. Mojo is wonderfully social and gets along with cats, dogs, and kids. He's perfectly happy as a solo cat, but he truly shines with a playful feline friend who enjoys wrestling and chasing. MEET MOUSE! 🐭 Mouse is a big, handsome boy with a huge personality, a loving heart, and quite a story to tell. As a kitten, he became stuck in a glue trap and ultimately lost one of his eyes. He went on to have a loving home, but sadly, his human mama passed away. Now this sweet boy is looking for someone to love—and he’d be VERY happy to have that person all to himself. ❤️ Mouse is an active, playful guy who loves wand toys, anything he can chase, and being right beside his human. He’s also quite the conversationalist and will happily let you know when it’s time to play or give him attention! Mouse is not subtle about what he wants—take too long to notice him and you may get a tiny nip reminding you, “Excuse me, I believe you were supposed to be paying attention to ME.” 😂 A cat-savvy home that appreciates his big personality will be purrfect. Mouse wants to be your one and only kitty, though he may be able to live with a respectful, cat-savvy dog with a proper introduction. Mouse has received the works in our care, including senior bloodwork, a dental, and an echocardiogram to evaluate his heart murmur. His dental was safely completed following his echo with a special anesthesia protocol. Going forward, he’ll need routine senior bloodwork and a future echocardiogram to keep tabs on his health. And that missing eye? It certainly doesn’t slow him down! After everything Mouse has been through, he deserves to spend this chapter being someone’s beloved boy again. If you’re looking for a funny, affectionate, playful companion who wants to be right by your side and isn’t afraid to tell you exactly what he wants, Mouse may be your guy! 🐭❤️
