~ I want to live with adults who are gentle and respectful of pets. (Teens considered)~ I am so bonded with my friend Smokey Bear that we must go home together. Besides ourselves, we may be willing to share our home with other cats who are gentle and respectful towards us.~ I want a dog free home.~ I would like a peaceful home with not a lot of foot-traffic.~ I have some special needs but still have lots of life to live and love to give. Please ask the adoption counselor to explain when you visit with me.Meet Smokey Bear and Tiger, a sweet and bonded pair of senior cats looking for a quiet, loving home to enjoy their golden years together. Both have special physical needs, but don`t let that fool you—these two still have so much life to live and love to give.Smokey Bear is a 20-lb, 8-year-old domestic shorthair with a striking grey and white coat. Despite his large frame, Smokey Bear has a gentle soul and a sweet demeanor. He`s a bit visually impaired so he may be a bit cautious with people at first but once you speak to him and let you know you`re there, he’ll show you just how affectionate he can be. Once Smokey Bear is acclimated to his environment, he moves around confidently. He enjoys climbing up to high places but may need a little help getting down now and then. Smokey Bear is a quiet, low-energy guy who loves snuggling with his best friend, Tiger, and playing with wand toys that have bells attached so he can find them more easily. He’s also a fan of scented toys. While his vision may be impaired, Smokey Bear still has plenty of energy for affection, play, and fun. He loves sitting and being pet and also brushed. He would do best in a calm, adult-only household (or one with teens who are respectful of cats). Smokey Bear is good with other cats, having lived with several in the past, and would like a dog-free environment.Tiger is a 14-year-old domestic shorthair with a beautiful black and grey ticked coat, weighing in at a trim 7.2 lbs. Tiger is a social butterfly, affectionate, and loves attention. He has a medium energy level and enjoys playtime with laser pointers and small stuffed mice. He loves being held and will happily curl up on your lap or sleep beside you, often purring contentedly while doing so. Like Smokey Bear, he too is a senior and has some physical needs (he is hearing impaired). He may not move as quickly as he once did, but his affectionate nature and love for attention remain strong as ev

Story
~ I want to live with cat savvy adults who are gentle and respectful of pets. ~ I would be most comfortable being the only pet in the home.~ I am a quiet and reserved kitty. I would prefer a peaceful home with not a lot of foot-traffic.~ I have some special behavioral needs but still have lots of life to live and love to give. Please ask the adoption counselor to explain when you visit with me.Meet Cifer – A Gentle Spirit Seeking a Quiet, Understanding HomeCifer is a 10-year-old Domestic Shorthair with a beautiful grey, black, and tabby coat and soulful eyes that hint at his sweet, sensitive nature. Weighing in at 15.2 pounds, this neutered male is a mellow, low-energy companion who’s looking for a peaceful home where he can feel safe and understood. Cifer is a quiet, independent soul who appreciated calm moments and peaceful spaces in his previous home of adults, children and other pets. His previous owner described him as a “shy but sweet” cat who mostly kept to himself, occasionally emerging from his cozy hiding spots to enjoy gentle pets once he felt comfortable and safe. These days, Cifer would thrive best in a tranquil, low-traffic home where he can fully relax and be himself. Because he’s easily overwhelmed, Cifer would do best in a small, quiet home with cat-savvy adults only, or possibly calm, older teens who can respect his boundaries. He’s looking to be the only pet in the home—no other cats or dogs, please. Too much space or activity can make him anxious, so a low-traffic home with a consistent routine will help him thrive. Cifer is what we lovingly refer to as a spirit cat—a gentle, quiet presence who’s still figuring out how to feel completely comfortable around people. He tends to hide from unfamiliar faces and doesn’t enjoy being picked up, but with time, patience, and a respectful approach, he’s shown touching moments of trust and openness. He’s best suited for someone who’s experienced with cats and can read their subtle cues—someone who will honor his need for space while appreciating the quiet, meaningful steps he takes toward connection. It’s also possible that Cifer may always prefer the safety of a hiding spot over a lap, but for the right person, that quiet companionship can be just as rewarding. His presence is a gentle reminder that love doesn’t always look the same—and that some of the most special bonds are the ones you earn slowly, over time. If you’re a patient and understanding cat lover seeking a lo

Story
Big Mama is ready for her forever home! Shes a funny girl with a lot of personality. She loves attention and to play, but she does get a bit overstimulated. She gives a warning meow before she gets too annoyed. She'd do best as an only pet, but she can get along with other cats as long as they give her space. Absolutely no dogs due to trauma in her past. No young children, but older or cat savvy kids would be fine.
