Story
A sweetie boy who LOVES sitting on your lap and wants love and pets. He's an adult but unsure of age. I took him in because he didn't have a home and have been getting him and my other cat (who I've had since 2021), but they just don't get along. He deserves a forever home and I wish it could be with me but there's too much hissing and worrying every day.

Story
Please contact Lauren McCarty (laurenmc@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Oreo Cookie Dough needs a forever home!OREO COOKIE DOUGH NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Oreo Cookie Dough     Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair    Best Guess for Age: 3 years 5 mos  - Estimated DOB 8/26/21    SEX:  male Approximate Weight:  7 lb 6 oz Coloring: Black and White Type of Hair: Short   Currently Living at:  Shelter...coming to the DC area soon! I am Looking For:  My forever home! Hi- I'm Oreo Cookie Dough   - a gorgeous kitty. .  I won’t ask for much...just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be my amazing self. What My Foster Says About Me:  coming soon! What the Shelter Says About Me:  Oreo Cookie Dough was in bad shape and needing help. I was able to get the family to surrender him to me (and our rescue). He was just fur and bones and had stained paws. I could see his little spirit was broken -  he loved his kids and family unconditionally. Despite what he looked like and what he had been through Oreo was still so loving and trusting to humans.  The vet said that his teeth were bad and needed to come out. Foster mom had a sneaky suspicion that was it - because his paws were stained from him being smart and softening his food in water so he could eat it. Since the bad teeth have been removed and inflammation subsided, Oreo has gained his weight and his confidence back! Oreo associates grooming with pain so he needs some help sometimes. But the good news is he loves the help! He loves to be brushed and loves having his ears cleaned with a warm cloth. He also (out of habit) will soften his food in the water bowl (from time to time). Foster mom has to clean up the water but she does not mind helping this sweet boy thrive. (So you may want to place the water bowl a distance from the food bowl.) Oreo is so loving and would love to be someone’s lap cat, homework helper or best buddy. He used to play fetch with his toys. I am hoping once he realizes he is no longer in pain he will play again. Oreo was raised with another cat, dogs and sweet kids.       TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats will be $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). The adoption fee for a kitten (under 7 months old) is $220 ($380 for two kittens adopted together). If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckycat. Story
*Meow! I am available for adoption at 71 Oglethorpe St NW. Come meet me daily from 12 - 7 PM.Meet Ardwick, a sweet and gentle 3-year-old brown and white tabby with a heart full of love! Ardwick may have tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), but that doesn’t stop him from being an affectionate, playful, and loyal companion. FIV+ is nothing to be afraid of and cats can live long, healthy lives with proper care (healthy diet and regular vet checks which would be the same for any kitty). Ardwick is ready to thrive in a safe and loving environment and will quickly steal your heart. Ardwick has a charming personality—he loves being around people and will happily follow you from room to room, always looking for a bit of attention and affection. He enjoys gentle playtime with toys, especially chasing after a string or batting at a soft ball. When he`s done having fun, Ardwick will curl up in your lap or find a cozy spot to relax and nap. His soft, beautiful coat is a perfect complement to his sweet and calm demeanor. This sweet boy is going to make an amazing companion for some lucky adopter. Could it be you?! Stop by and meet him today!
