Story
Meet Olive!    Olive is a short-haired tabby. She is approximately 1 year old. She came to us after being rescued from a terrible home environment. Ask in the office if you want details about her previous life. She was adopted and it wasn’t a good fit despite the adopter’s patience and love. Please read about her below before considering adopting her. She’s a loving, wonderful kitty with people. She is friendly and loves everybody she meets. She loves toys and has lots of kitten energy but is much calmer than most kittens.    She doesn’t like other cats and can react very strongly. She’s proving to be cat-selective. When she first arrived, she struggled with severe diarrhea likely due to stress. She will need to stay on a special diet of sensitive stomach food. This has made the diarrhea better after many months of experimenting with different foods. She needs to be an only cat or have enough room so that she doesn’t have to interact closely with another cat. She would love a home where she would be the center of attention. We are not sure about dogs. It would depend on the personality of the dog and how they were introduced.  She did great with a kid in her previous home but it would depend on the family dynamics and age of the kid(s).    Recently, we took her to the vet to deal with a medical issue. Lumps started appearing on the side of her spine. They got bigger and started duplicating. After some diagnostic testing, it was determined that her kidneys are floppy and sit in a weird place. We have documentation from the vet stating this and her test results. Her kidneys are fully functional and in excellent health at this moment. This could change in the future so this is something to consider. She’s so playful and loving and would love to be your new best friend. We require the cat manager's approval to adopt her due to her various issues as we want to ensure she goes into the perfect home.  Contact us today or stop in to meet her!   Our prices are       Kitties 0-4 months - $80       5 months -7 Yrs. -  $70 8 Yrs. Story
Meet Hazel!   Hazel is a short-haired dark tabby with a short tail. She is about 3 years old. She was returned after no longer being a good fit with her adopted family. We recommend against dogs. She was brought back due to reacting strongly to a dog being introduced into the household. This reaction included not using her litter box and showing severe signs of stress. She’s cat-friendly and did well with older kids (12+) in her previous home. She’s a sweet girl who enjoys affection and attention on her terms. She loves chin rubs and being petted on her head. It took several months to get comfortable in the shelter but she has settled in. She has a fun personality that is fairly independent and sassy at times. She would do great in a home where she could bond and connect with one or two people in a quiet, relaxed setting. She’s ready to find her forever family. Contact us today and ask more about her or stop in to see her today! Our prices are       Kitties 0-4 months - $80       5 months -7 Yrs. -  $70 8 Yrs. Story
Meet Abigail!   Abigail is a short-haired tuxedo. She is about 1 year old. She has a goofy, unique personality.  She has come out of her shell and is playful and relaxed in the room. She likes to be held and seeks out attention when she wants it. She loves to flop and roll around. She’s cat-selective and doesn’t seem to bond with anyone in the room. She prefers easygoing older cats who leave her alone. She doesn’t mind them or show any aggression but chooses to do her own thing. She is a good balance between affectionate and independent if you aren’t looking for a clingy cat. We are unsure about dogs or kids. She doesn’t always like loud noises or chaos but this could change in the right environment. It’s recommended you bring in any kids (younger especially) to check how she does. She sometimes will hide from them and climb up out of reach. She’s ready to find a new home with her forever family. Story
Meet Paisley!    Paisley is a short-haired tuxedo who is approximately a year old. She has lots of sass and attitude in all the best ways. She’s similar to a sour candy at times and we love that about her. First she’s sour then she’s sweet. Even during her playful moments, she’s very gentle and well behaved. She will bap or swat without any claws or force when she’s feeling playful. She was initially aggressive (growled and stalked) to the cats in the room when she was first introduced and would need to be closely monitored to ensure there were no issues with other kitties in your home. She is quite cat selective and seems to prefer certain cats over other cats. She doesn’t do great with very dominant cats or overly submissive cats who allow her to bully them. She respects cats who stand up for themselves without being mean and will cuddle with them (see picture with Penny for proof). Per a friend of her previous owner, she has experience with dogs and kids (younger and older). In the shelter, she has shown potential issues with dogs. She will stalk a dog when they come in the room but it might be different when she’s in a home setting and can get used to a certain dog. She’s got lots of energy and needs an outlet to run this energy off. She’s used to being indoor/outdoor so she might want to be indoor/outdoor in an adopted home. She’s ready to find her new forever family and provide you with endless entertainment. Stop in today to meet her! Our prices are       Kitties 0-4 months - $80       5 months -7 Yrs. -  $70 8 Yrs. Story
Meet Buddy!   Buddy is a short-haired tabby w/ white. He is about 3 years old. He was adopted and recently returned due to no fault of his own. He’s a big boy who is adjusting to being back in the shelter. He’s a sweet guy who seems to be a little shy when you first meet him. He loves to give everybody the biggest head bumps. He is very cat-friendly. We were told he’s bonded to Missy and his previous adopter recommends they be adopted together. You don’t see them together much in the room but it’s hard to say how they would do in a home setting. He’s got a laid-back personality once he adjusts to his environment. It seems like he could be quite needy in a home environment and could become quite cuddly. He is dog and kid-friendly (per his previous adopter) but we are unsure of the ages he does well with. Please bring in your kids before adoption to make sure he does well with them. He’s ready to find his perfect home. Please stop in and meet him today!  Our prices are       Kitties 0-4 months - $80       5 months -7 Yrs. -  $70 8 Yrs. Story
This is Pepper and she is in Caldwell, ID. She was born December 2017 or there abouts as we found her outside West Valley Hospital and gave her a home. She is fixed but is not current on her shots. She is in need of re-homing as we are now RV traveling and every time she gets in the vehicle she gets sick. We have even tried to not feed her up to 8 hours before traveling but this only means there isn’t as much to throw-up. She has lived with other cats and dogs but would be happier being an only pet. She has her claws and is very affectionate. Lots of purrs. She is shy around strangers. She is an indoor/outdoor cat but please keep her inside for two months then go with her outside for the next two months if you are going to let her out. If desired, I have a cat tree and potty boxes that can come with her.

Moochi & Chai were loved kittens, but they lost their senior lady. Friends wanted to find a stable home for these sweet siblings. Black and white brother, Moochi, and Siamese mix sister, look nothing alike, but are bonded. Personality: Chai has calm confidence, the security blanket, that lets Moochi be his Silly sweet self. Both are curious, playful, snuggly after a little time to settle in. Bonded pair with Chai, Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, vetted. Bonded, so no problem with compatibility. Story
Jude was born in the streets of small town Arco, Idaho. She lived with me there for a year until we moved to Boise, where we have also been one year. She is two years old now. She has such a unique personality- she’s very independent and very curious. She loves outside time. She’s not very snuggly unless she wants to be. She does this adorable thing where she paws at your leg, so you’ll pick her up, and then gives you a hug and rubs against your neck(which is so adorable bc she doesn’t do this all the time😭🙏) Jude loves to hang out, she keeps her space but she’s always around and observing.:) She needs someone able to give her the energy, space, and resources she needs for a good, loving environment. I just can’t give that to her right now. She is very wise! This! cat! knows! things!!! Looking for someone to appreciate her, her soul and essence, and give her the care she deserves🤎✨🪐 also named after the beatles song-(i sing it to her frequently, it’s her little lullaby)✨💌🪽

Alice’s people moved and even if she was mostly an outdoor cat they considered her family. When they moved it was important to the owner she would be cared for, so they brought her to IHS to be rehomed. She is both independent and loves company. A perfect pal to meet you when you step outside. Alice liked to feel safe at night and appreciated sleeping in the warm garage. At 13, she the simple things in life, some food and clean water, a warm bed and shelter and security. Mostly, she wants a place to call home. Please give Alice time to trust you.
