Amanda is a girl who likes her own human. She is very dedicated to and affectionate with her person. She does not like other cats in her world . . . it's her world after all. Dogs not so much either. Just her human. She is a very pretty girl, dilute orange with some tabby markings.

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Boo is an incredibly affectionate cat. He would make someone a tremendous companion. He just wants to be with you, and sit on your lap. Boo spent early months of his life as a stray, most likely abandoned. Unfortunately he was infected with FIV. Boo is a lover not a fighter, but that could not be said of every cat in his original neighborhood. Further, he was injured badly and had a rough go of it for a number of months. He is on prednisone and most likely will need to remain on this support for the rest of his life -- at least that is the outlook for now. His specials needs, therefore, are that he is FIV positive and must be maintained on prednisone. The prednisone stimulates his appetite, which is why he is a bit on the heavy side. Boo would very much like to find a home where he could be fully integrated in the household. So he is looking for that special person who can accommodate his needs. He is worth every bit of this needed consideration. Due to his medical condition, the veterinarians have been cautious about vaccines.

Story
Kasima means "beauty and elegance" and for this girl, it also means friendly, curious, and playful. This pretty 4-year-old lady has a great out-going personality and is at ease with guests. Definite black stripes mark silver fur with touches of honey brown. Kasima has good inside manners and faithfully uses her scratching post and litter box. She is quite fond of her squeaky mouse (which she freed from the end of her fishing pole toy) and is quick to toss it about and wrestle it into submission. Her feelings about being around children and other cats are not known. However, this little lady would be a great companion as she likes to be close to her human. Kasima enjoys being petted and picked up for a quick cuddle. She is very slow to warm up to other animals in the home, and would really be best as the only pet in the household. Kasima has been diagnosed with feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) and requires a prescription urinary care diet. The diet is working very well for her. She also has had a dental, three teeth were extracted. Sometimes, when her foster parent is standing outside the apartment door getting ready to come in, Kasima will make greeting meows and chirps from the other side of the door. Kasima is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. She weighs 8.5 pounds. If you are interested in adopting a young, terrific cat, you can stop looking. Kasima is your little lady. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Mr. Dean is a beautiful cat. He is thought to be four to six years old. He weighs 13 pounds. Dean is a very inquisitive cat who can problem solve just about anything (aka can open just about any door/cabinet). He is affectionate and very self confident. He has no problems running with the dogs. His foster mom adores his confidence!! Dean and his foster home housemate kitties have become very bonded. They are now very attached to each other and we would like to place them together. Dean is rarely seen without one or both of the other 2. It would be heartbreaking to split them up, so we will insist the potential home adopt all three. Dean was a little offstandish with the other kitties at first, so it is unknown if he would take to other cats quickly in a new home.

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Gibson is thought to be 8-10 years old. He is a very handsome tabby. He weighs 10.5 pounds. Gibson's special need is that he has been diagnosed with stomatitis, a dental disease. At his young age he has already had several teeth extracted. After intake and original dental care, including needed extractions, Illinois Humane has been able to stabilize him with monitored good care. Gibson was born to play! He is always looking for someone to play with. He is a fun guy to watch. Gibson is very bonded with his kitty companions in his foster home -- Squier and Dean. They came into Illinois Humane together and they have bonded even further in their foster home. It would be heartbreaking to split them up, so we must insist upon placing them together. And, Mr. Gibson stops at nothing for food! Gibson's one little hitch is that he is not always the best at drawing in his claws. For this reason, he is not a good match for young to mid-aged children, or individuals with thin skin or using blood thinners. He is a total sweetheart. He just doesn't always get it that he needs to draw in his claws.
