After his beloved owner sadly passed away Cubby, our 5-year-old gentle giant came into our care on 8/28 with his friend, Callie. Their worlds were turned upside down, and he is struggling with shelter life after years in a loving home. Cubby is doing much better...living in Kitty City and starting to greet staff when they come in the room. Cubby is a sweet and calm companion. A friend of his owner says: "When you say 'I love you', Cubby would say 'ahhh rrhhuu rhuu' very exaggerated and rub his head on you. It really sounds like 'I love you'! lol ❤️ He also likes dripping or running water, is good with nail clipping and with the vet. He enjoys being petted, and occasionally, he gives 'love bites,' a unique trait some cats use to communicate affection. Cubby will be an ideal couch potato, a TV-watching buddy, and a soothing presence brightening your days. Poor Callie came here with her bestie Cubby on 8/28 after their owner passed away. Callie had a rough start with us; her world was turned upside down and it has been tough for her to cope. She's a very sensitive kitty. She is finally showing us her true personality and realizes we are not bad people. Callie loves to be petted, explore her surroundings and lay around. She is a stunning girl! Her colors are so vibrant it's hard to believe she's real. Miss Callie is a plump roly-poly and really needs a home that will help her with healthy weight management...in other words, a diet. She is a typical calico and has some "catitude" so she will do best in a no kids home, or at least older kids. Other than that, this big girl is a real treat and will lay on the couch with you the entire day! Sunny is such a handsome ginger boy who came to us as a stray in October. He is handsome but so much more than that! Sunny is like a rag doll when you pick him up, enjoying every second of your attention. He loves a toy mouse and comes to life batting it around making a spectacle of himself. This boy is fun AND full of love all in one special package. Sunny got FIV from being on the street but we know he was someone's loverboy at one time. Please read up on FIV facts before you discount this fine boy. He doesn't have a mean bone in his little ginger body therefore will not start a fight. No, this boy is a lover NOT a fighter so wouldn't be giving the opportunity to spread FIV on to another kitty. Lola is a lovely, gorgeous orange little girl, about 7 months old. She came to us as a very scared stray kitty fand has recently starting blossoming into her own gentle, kind personality. She will certainly grow into her ears when she gets older and will fill out nicely, we are positive. Lola is in Kitty City right now so the little ones in Kitten Corral do not overwhelm her. She is gaining confidence as each day passes with our staff helping her every step of the way. Lola will do best in a quiet home with another young, playful kitten or a teenager that is very respectful of her space. We want to make sure Lola continues on her journey to trust humans and other animals but slowly and on her own terms. She truly is a real beauty now.
