Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you're working for home or just playing it safe by practicing social distancing, now is a perfect time to bring a new furry family member into the fold. Email us any questions about any cats we have and we will be happy to provide any additional information you may need. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Edith is about 9 years old as of December 2023.  Edith was adopted as a kitten and returned to our rescue at 9 years old through no fault of her own.  Out of 4 cats in the home, she was asked to leave and not a bid of it made sense!  We adopted her out a few months after her initial return to an elderly lady who had recently lost her baby of 15 years.  The adoption was contingent upon the granddaughter's promise to care for Edith in the event that Grandma could not.  Guess what?  That promise was not honored and Edith is now back with us.  While we are happy she is safe here, she needs stability and love without being bounced around.  Imagine losing all you knew and had after 9 years only to have a few months of love and stability before becoming confused again!  Edith is a beautiful girl, she's shy and will need a home with patience who will give her time to adjust from all she has experienced.  She has lived with other cats and will make a fine addition to the right home.  Adopt her today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Our adoption fee structure is as follows:   $75 - Kittens/Young (Up to 1 year) $50 - Adult (1 Year +) $25 - Senior (7 Years +) $0 - FIV + There is an additional $25 fee for cats considered to be an "Exotic" (Siamese, Persian, etc...) If you are a senior (65 years or older) you can adopt any of our senior cats (7 years or older) for only $10! Please mention this special when applying. We also have a kitten special - adopt 2 available kittens (1 year & under) for $125 While we try to keep our animal listings up-to-date online, sometimes the age range may be labelled incorrectly. Please don't hesitate to contact us for the most up-to-date information on a particular cat.  Our cats are shown by appointment - we are a foster based rescue and so we don't have a location with set hours. If you are interested in adopting or would like to meet our cats, please fill out our adoption application online at www.safehousepets.org/info/adoption and a volunteer will contact you promptly.  May 1, 2024, 4:12 pm

If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Rascal is a very affectionate, sweet, loveable & playful boy. He enjoys all kinds of toys especially a laser light, feather wands and of course anything catnip! Rascal has been very gentle while being held by his foster Mom and Dad...and he actually LOVES belly rubs! Rascal will literally roll onto his back for them! His fur is so soft and he has the cutest white patches of fur on his belly and under his arms! Although his foster home does not have children we believe in his previous outdoor life he was socializing with children. His foster Mom keeps trying to get better pictures of him to post but he just wants to play, roll around and get affection all the time...lol! What could be better in a cat than that!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Ping is a very sweet little guy who enjoys playing with lots of toys, especially laser light and anything catnip filled! Ping was living an outside life before he and his siblings were found and brought into rescue. He is still quite shy and nervous around new people but has come a long way that he allows his foster mom to pick him up, hold him and even give him kisses on his head! Ping's forever home will need to continue his socializing and teaching him humans are safe to be around but he is 100% worth it!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV.
