Email us any questions about any cats we have and we will be happy to provide any additional information you may need. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Kindle is about 5 1/2 years old as of November, 2025.   His intake picture shows the need for his rescue! He's been with us in rescue since March of 2025 and we have treated and helped him physically recover from the critical condition in which he was found. Kindle and a feline buddy (Sammy) showed up on a farm. Their story to that point is not known. Sammy had been shaved in what appeared to be professional cut and Kindle's hair appeared to have been cut yet not shaved. Sammy was not as physically ill as Kindle was, yet before we could get to help them, Sammy was hit by a car and humane euthanasia was required. We were so sad about Sammy, yet we were so happy to still be able to help Kindle. He's now neutered, vaccinated and healthy yet the trauma from whatever occurred to him mentally remains. He is a very scared boy, non-aggressive and he needs a special home that is quiet where love and patience can be given for as long as it may take to let him trust again. This will take time and we are not certain to what level he will grow to; he may never be a lap cat and that's ok! From his foster: My sweet Kindle I’m not sure what his story is but I know that it broke his heart. He is not a true feral but resorted back to being scared of humans during his life. He loves to take churu treats from me and I have finally after almost a year earned his trust to see his demeanor change from scared to calm during pets. He's absolutely stunning! He's not happy in rescue and we know he will move forward and thrive in a home. He sure deserves one; he's lucky to have survived.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Monkey is about 1 year old as of March, 2026.  He's a handsome boy, super sweet and charming.  Monkey is very active/full of energy!  He loves to play and, also,  to be held and petted.  He has been around a lot of cats and some dogs in his outside life and will be a perfect fit into any home with time to adjust and proper introduction to pets.  He's got some extra dew claws so regular nail trims will be needed; he's pretty good about that!  Monkey had a rough life in the past and has suffered leaving him with digestive issues, marking him as "special needs"  Yet, his "special needs" are not that needy at all!  He requires a prescription diet, food that is easy for him to digest and that is all he needs.  He eats 1/4 cup of his dry food in the morning and 1/4 cup at night with no other foods or treats making his care less than if he were free feeding; approximately .89 cents a serving!  This diet will allow Monkey to live a full health life with no further interventions expected!  Please don't let his "special needs" be the reason not to adopt this very special boy!  Approved applications will be contacted within 48 hours.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Email us any questions about any cats we have and we will be happy to provide any additional information you may need. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. Teak is about 15 months old as of the end of April, 2025.  She is a super sweet, loving girl who is all about being petted, held and snuggling.  She loves to play and has lived with multiple other cats many of which you would find her snuggling around.  There were dogs in her past area also.  She will be a great addition to any home that can give her some time to adjust.  Unfortunately, Teak's past life led her to have permanent digestive issues requiring us to mark her as "special needs"  Yet, her "special needs" are not needy at all!  She requires a prescription diet, food that is easy to digest, and with that she will lead a completely normal, healthy life with no further intervention expected to be required.  It may seem like "a lot" but it isn't.  She eats 1/4 cup in the a.m. and 1/4 cup in the p.m. and that's all she eats!  The cost of Teak's food per serving is about .89 cents making it less than most store brand foods and much healthier!  The prescription for her food is obtained annually at her annual exam.  She's spayed, fully vaccinated and ready for her FOREVER home!  Adopt Teak today.  Approved applications will be contacted within 48 hours.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Email us any questions about any cats we have and we will be happy to provide any additional information you may need. If you are approved for adoption, we are now doing curbside adoptions in order to minimize contact. About 6 years old as of January 2026, Spokane is looking for a quiet home where he can let his guard down. He was adopted as a young cat, and sadly his person passed away. When he first came back to rescue, he was terrified. It took weeks of daily treats and soft words for him to feel safe enough to come down from his high spot. Now his true personality is coming out, and it's a beautiful thing! He's cuddly and sweet, and he adores other kitties despite being an only cat for most of his life. His first meeting with one of the resident cats was full of head butts and purrs! He's recently begun sleeping in his foster mom's bed, watching TV on the couch. He is still cautious, but he's ready for a real home! Apply for this beautiful boy now at: www.safehousepets.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. Sunshine is about  9 1/2 years old as of February, 2026.   She was adopted as a baby kitten and returned to us as a senior through no fault of her own; her mom moved to a home that did not allow pets.  She struggled with the return to rescue yet has now adjusted and is very friendly with her foster mom.  She is timid with new people and will take time to adjust in her new home.  She will do best in a quieter home without a dog and limited cats.  She will need a segregated area to adjust and a home that will be patient and allow her to learn to trust on her own time.  She sure deserves happiness and not being confined in a rescue.  She came back declawed.  Adopt Sunshine today.  www.safehousepets.org.  Approved applications will be contacted within 48 hours.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.All of our cats have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV.
