Story
Pounce is a Tortoise shell female (like the other 99% of Torties). Seems to get along with the dogs ok. She doesn't love them but seems to accept them. Born a farm/barn kitten, mom took her in the house when she was little & been house cat since. Loves scratches and butt rubs. Hates the other cats. I'm sure she'd prefer to be the only cat in the home. She (and they) have survived OK for the past year plus living together tho. Mom was no longer able to take care of the household, animals, and such so she has moved to a Long Term Care facility. I am unable to take Pounce as I'm already taking her Border Collie, one of the 4 cats; I already have an Australian Shepard, plus my daughter's cat is staying with us. And the house is about 800sq' Also, Pounce is just about the BEST mouser I've ever seen.

Story
Bambi is a young girl (b. June 2021) who had a rough start to life. This little gal came to rescue as a feral kitty but has slowly gotten used to life inside! According to her foster, Bambi's biggest challenge has been learning to trust people. She says that Bambi is finally comfortable accepting affection from humans, and she is interacting with the resident cats more and more... She's an independent girl, and will likely maintain that streak for life, but she has watched her foster love on and play with the other resident pets and observing these positive interactions has helped her feel safe and grow more confident. She likes to sit close to her foster but isn't a fan of being picked up just yet, and she loves her food and treats! Bambi's foster says she is a gentle girl and litterbox trained. Bambi needs a future home that doesn't mind taking things slow... really slow! Bambi also needs to go to a home with another resident kitty because that's been key to getting this girl comfy. In her foster home, Bambi has inched toward trust by watching the other cats and their relationship with the humans in the home; it's easy to see that everyone's in good hands! Bambi's foster has recently taken in a small kitten, and Bambi is very close and affectionate with this baby. She'll let the little kitty snuggle up real close while she licks her face clean! We'll keep updating as Bambi continues her rescue journey. The suggested adoption donation for Bambi is $65. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. All donations go toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, providing supportive services to animals in homes, and funding for special programs like Muddy Paws Parvo Puppy Project. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter for a free spay/neuter procedure at Val Verde Animal Hospital. Spay/neuters completed elsewhere will be reimbursed $80/dog or $55/cat once proof of alteration has been received by Muddy Paws. Alterations are required for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The adoption contract states alters must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or the adopter will be in breach of the contract. Adopters are required to provide proof of alteration to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately following the procedure. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1178358##

Story
Bagheera! This sweet guy (born March 2022) is learning about life indoors! Since coming into the rescue, he has put on some pounds. He loves to cuddle, play, and get all the attention, once he is comfortable with you. He currently lives with other cats, however, it took a lot of slow intros and lots of playtime. Bagheera is a little selective about who he meets, so the adopter would need to have a few intros with Bagheera so he can learn to trust you.  Can you provide this guy with his furever home? The suggested adoption donation for Bagheera is $65. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX-DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $306,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. Story
Meet Kevin, a domestic short hair cat born approximately 2/2020. He's a shy guy, but is very active and loves to give kisses. He's quite friendly but likes to approach his people on his own terms and only once he's observed you for a while to know if you're safe or not. He prefers to come to his person for pets, so he needs someone whose patient and lets him make the choice for attention and affection. He needs a home that makes him feel safe and that keeps him inside. He also knows how to use the litter box. If Kevin is your guy, apply for him today!  The suggested adoption donation for Kevin is $65. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Meet Lucky, a Domestic Shorthair born approximately 4/2019. Lucky is a typical young cat who loves attention, regularly climbing and zooming around. He's very vocal and friendly and curious about new people. He likes to be close and pet, but doesn't love being held. He loves being brushed and plays with his toys often. Lucky is a very curious little guy, so it may be best to keep things out of reach, especially shoes. He also has accidents outside of his litter box from time to time, so he'll need a lot of patience and possibly re-training. Lucky wants to give you all of his attention, so give him a chance today! The suggested adoption donation for Lucky is $65, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life.
