Story
Meet this charming fella named Opie/Boo! Check out his amazing green eyes. He was adopted as a baby and now back for the third time (November 2020) since April 4, 2018 when his owner became allergic to him and could no longer keep him. Very sad for them and sweet Opie! He is now 7 years 2 months old, up to date on shots, house broken (litter box trained), neutered, and so ready to be back in a loving FOREVER home. He is a BIG boy around 18 pounds and loves soaking up all of the love and body rubs one has to share with him but on his terms. His sweetness will shine once he settles in and knows he is safe and happy. He needs a home without dogs and can be selective with his feline friends. Can be a little quirky in his own way and will come to you for attention. Other then that he enjoys laying around and watching life happen around him. He loves treats too. Maybe you have the perfect home for sweet Opie?! Stop by the shelter for a visit with him today and adopt him into your family!!

Story
Meet this BEAUTIFUL girlie named Lina! She came in May 22, 2023 and when her owner had too many animals and could no longer keep her so she’s awaiting her “adoption day”! She came in super scared and unsure of shelter life but is sweet just needs time to acclimate and feel secure and loved. Can’t blame her since there is nothing familiar to her. Very common. Once in a home starting in a smaller area and gradually opening up area to her will make a smoother transition. With love, patience, and time to settle in I think her sweetness will shine brighter and brighter with time. Lina is 4 years 6 months old, current on shots, already spayed, and deserves a wonderful loving home and family or person she can call her own. Maybe you have the most perfect laid back home for this sweetie?! Visit with Lina today and give her back the homelife she’s missing!

Story
Meet this cutie named Ranger aka Tux! He and his sister Spot girl are in a foster home and doing great but really are hoping for their own FOREVER home. As of January 2024 they are 9 months old, current on shots, neutered, litter box trained, and just a fun loving fella. April 2023 dob. Ranger with his "soul patch", along with his siblings, Spot-girl and Patch, are rescues from a neighborhood off Country Club Road in Morehead City and currently being fostered in an a no-dog environment. His green eyes are either wide open, alert to all around him, or closed...sitting on your chest purring and enjoying all the love you can give him. If you’re interested in meeting Ranger please contact the shelter and a meet and greet can be arranged. Serious inquiries please and thank you!! We have SO MANY cats & kittens arriving daily that it is hard to keep our Adopt-a-Pet as up to date as we would like. So please, COME TO THE SHELTER and meet some of the wonderful cats that are up for adoption and open up your home to one or more kitties today! If you adopt a cat that is not already spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to help cover the cost of the surgery, and some vets honor the voucher 100%! Such a great deal -- while also saving a life!! All of our cats are tested for FIV as well as Feline Leukemia before being placed up for adoption. Not quite ready for the commitment of adoption but would love to contribute to the health and happiness of our feline fur babies? We'd very much appreciate some litter, or food (especially kitten food - Purina is their favorite!). Maybe you will have some time to snuggle and love on them while you're here. It makes their time here more enjoyable when they get extra love & attention. Also, we need volunteers & foster homes! Come to the shelter to apply! The shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm (we close from 1pm-2pm for lunch), and Saturday 10am-4pm. Hope to see you soon!
