Barn Cat ProgramWorking cats, such as barn cats, are not typically suited to being indoor pets. These independent felines prefer to roam and hunt in outdoor environments working for you, hunting mice and other pests. To be eligible to adopt a working cat you must be able to provide a period of confinement for at least two weeks, and potentially longer, to help them acclimate to their new surroundings. During this time, they can adjust to the idea that your property is their new home base where they can work to keep pests at bay. You must provide them with safe shelter that protects them from harsh weather conditions and potential predators. They should be fed once daily and have constant access to fresh water to keep them healthy and happy. These diligent workers will earn their keep by naturally controlling pests on your property, making them valuable allies in maintaining a pest-free environment.

Jocelyn is a hefty lady and anormal tortie cat.She doesn`t have as much tortietude as some, but isn`t as easy going as others.Jocelyn gives staff a hard time here at the shelter, she loves playing in her water, so it is extremely hard to keep her kennel clean! She is a sweet kitty and loves attention, but definitely has a playful side to her as well!

Sugar is a sweet, petite dilute tortie with a hesitant personality. This little mama was a mom way too young and only had one surviving kitten. She was great mom and is now a great little cat, feeling her way in this new chapter of her life.Sugar is shy, hesitant meeting new people. She knows light pets and so wants more, but needs slow introductions. We hope for a calm, stress free, less chaotic home for her to live her best life!

Story
Simsim is about 7 years old. His name means sesame in Arabic. He is black and white and he was a street cat that our guard in our apartment building in Kuwait adopted, so he is Kuwaiti. The owner of the building did not want cats wandering around so he was taken to a shelter 30 minutes away. Somehow, Simsim found his way back and he was fostered by teachers who couldn't leave him in the street. I ended up with him and brought him to the USA when I returned. He is very friendly and great with children, but not with other cats or dogs, except his sister, Mishmisha also posted separately. We are hoping they will be adopted together since Simsim helped raise Mishmisha. 2 cats that are calm are not much more difficult to take care of than 1, besides litter and more food, but we will provide all of their supplies and food that we have when they are adopted, including a tall cat tree if desired. Since they are bonded, we want to rehome them together.
