Story
Simba, an approximately 4-year-old, neutered male, his mom, Sophie, and sister, Hazel, all came to LCAS through no fault of their own. Their loving guardian had to part with these lovely kitties due to a heartbreaking family situation. Simba has been indoor only his entire life and will need to remain indoor only. Simba is affectionate and playful. He loves to perch on your shoulder! If you are looking for a sweet, social kitty (or 3!), look no further than Simba! The fee to adopt Simba is only $75.00! **Appointments are highly recommended, so please call the Shelter at 541-265-0720 to speak with a staff member about the animal you are interested in adopting. **All adoption candidates have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and wormed! Adoptions include a cardboard pet carrier, and a free veterinary visit. If you live in Lincoln County and have dogs in the home, they must be licensed in Lincoln County (requires current rabies vaccination). If you rent, you would need permission from your landlord to have a pet. Phone messages and emails will be returned in the order they are received. You may reach us at 541-265-0720 or lcanimalshelter@co.lincoln.or.us for more information.

Story
Sophie, an approximately 6-year-old, spayed female, and her grown kittens, Simba and Hazel, all came to LCAS through no fault of their own. Their loving guardian had to part with these lovely kitties due to a heartbreaking family situation. Sophie has been an indoor cat her entire life and will need to stay indoors in her new home. Sophie is affectionate, outgoing, curious, and just about the cutest thing we've ever seen! She has a bit of torti-tude when it comes to over handling, so handsy kids might get a swat if they don't respect her space. If you are looking for a sweet, beautiful kitty (or 3!) to join your household, please meet Sophie, Simba, and Hazel! The fee to adopt Sophie is only $75.00! **Appointments are highly recommended, so please call the Shelter at 541-265-0720 to speak with a staff member about the animal you are interested in adopting. **All adoption candidates have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated and wormed! Story
Meet Orion! Orion came to Heartland as a stray cat, so the staff here don't know too much about her prior history, other than she is beautiful and talkative. She is what we like to call a "flirty cat", always talking to you as you're passing by, inviting you over for a chat, or trying to convince you she needs more wet food. She was a bit stressed out when she first came to Heartland, and it took about a week for Orion to feel more at home here. As always, when counseling new adopters, please know that it takes time for a newly adopted pet to feel comfortable in their new surroundings and environment :) Orion is looking for her furever family, so come meet her today at Heartland! I'm a Private Investigator. My MYM Feline-ality(TM) predicts how I'll behave while adjusting to a new environment:I'm working undercover to keep an eye on you and your household. You may not even know you're under surveillance.I can vanish into thin air if anyone or anything interferes with my investigation. If you need a cat who knows how to stay out of trouble and will always keep your secrets, I just might take your case

Story
I will continue to blossom in a calmer home for if I am feeling overwhelmed my instinct is to hide. You should also know that I am FIV positive - that means I'm immunocompromised so I'd like to be an indoor-only kitty. FIV is only spread in cats and isn't spread through casual contact. If we get along, I can even share a litterbox and food bowls with another cat without them getting FIV. With proper care and love, an FIV kitty like me can live a long and happy life - so please don't let this scare you away. If you'd like to learn more, my shelter friends recommend this FAQ, just copy and paste the link in your browser: https://resources.bestfriends.org/article/fiv-cats-faqs-feline-immunodeficiency-virus.
