Story
Hi there! My name is Kenny, and it's great to meet you. I am a stunning Grey and White female cat who is estimated to be around 3 and a half years old. I had to come to Stray Haven when my owner could no longer keep me. I was found at a pretty young age and had only ever had one home in my life. I was never around other cats until I came to stay at the shelter. I am indifferent about being in the same communal as them, but I mostly stick to myself. I did live in the home with a dog, but again mostly just preferred my independent lifestyle. My owner had a two-year-old and they said I was tolerant of sharing my space with the tiny human. I'm definitely more about being around my people though, that's for sure! I have made quite a few human friends here at the shelter, and I can get pretty excited when they come to visit me. I'll jump down from my favorite cat tree to greet them and spend my time soaking up the pets and rubbing against their legs.I am a pretty confident cat and I'll be sure to let you know when I don't like something! My human friends here tell me that a strong-willed cat is full of personality, and I like to think that describes me fairly accurately. I mentioned earlier that some of my favorite spots to hang out are in the various cat trees in my communal. Truth be told, I just like to be perched up high. I can look down on everything and it makes me feel like royalty. I'm really hoping that I can find another home that loves me. If you think you might want to meet me then I implore you to stop down and check me out for yourself. I'll see if we can be friends and we can go from there! See you then!Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Brandi! It's delightful to meet you! I am a stunning Brown Tiger Female cat who is estimated to be around 6 and a half years old! I ended up coming to stay at Stray Haven when I was transferred up here from another rescue in Northern Pennsylvania. They had done some bloodwork on me and found out that I was diagnosed with Feline Diabetes. Due to the fact that they are a strictly volunteer-based rescue, they had no one that could administer my Insulin and needed to find someone that could. Being diagnosed with diabetes means that my body is no longer producing insulin or using it properly. ""Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, controls the flow of blood sugar, called glucose, to the body's cells to provide energy. Without sufficient levels of insulin, glucose doesn't reach the cells like it should, so instead the body starts breaking down fat and protein cells to use for energy, while unused glucose builds up to excessive amounts in the bloodstream."" I now get an insulin shot twice a day with a serving of wet food at each time. The wonderful thing about cats is that with the specified dietetic dry food, insulin shots, and servings of wet food (my human friends have a list of acceptable kinds), is that we can end up going into remission. That's the eventual goal is to get to a point where I don't need to get my shots anymore. I started my insulin on 12/14/22 and right now the focus is on maintaining balanced levels and a stress-free environment. I'm currently living in the Shelter Manager's office, and I get to spend the majority of my day free roaming in there and doing as I please. I am a very calm and laid-back kind of cat. I'm generally content with just being in your presence and soaking up all of the love and attention that you have to give. I love to sprawl out on the floor at your feet and also sit next to you while you pet my head. I am especially fond of having my head and cheeks rubbed too. I also really enjoy meowing quietly at you when I am ready for you to give me more pets and attention. I have not met any dogs or kids yet, so you'd have to ask the shelter staff how I might do with them. I'm an old soul at heart and would definitely thrive best in a quieter home without a lot of traffic or activity. If you're interested in a wonderful and loving girl, stop on down to the shelter and meet me. I'd love to find a home of my very own!Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
What's up, people? My name is Zed! The pleasure is mine! I am a dapper Black and White Tuxedo Male kitty who is estimated to be around 2 years old! I ended up making my way to Stray Haven when I showed up at this person's house and didn't want to leave. They said that I was adamant about trying to come inside and that I would not take no for an answer. Apparently, I would even cling to their screen door and yell at them to let me in. Forgive me, but I can neither confirm nor deny those were my actions and they may be exaggerating a bit. I was able to come here to stay and I have since made myself right at home! I currently stay in the lobby and I have the perfect view of everything that goes on here at the shelter. I use my large window to birdwatch and see all the people coming to visit the shelter. I get to meet and greet everyone who comes inside too. I like to meow and yell at them to come over and give me some attention! Sometimes I can get a little overstimulated with things so the staff here have labeled me as semi-spicy! I used to stay with a couple of cats out in the Big Cat Room, but they didn't get along with me all that much. I do love to be the center of attention, so maybe that's why I'm a little selective about which cats I want to be around. I've seen lots of dogs too, and I'm not afraid to show them who's boss if they dare to come over to my domain! I am definitely a cat full of surprises though. I can get down with some good lap cuddles or hang out with you on the couch. I can also engage in some great playtime shenanigans. Let's just say that it would never be a dull moment with me around! If you're interested in a guy like me, then why don't you pop on down to the shelter and meet me for yourself? I'd love to know what home life is all about! Hi there! I'm Onyx! It's fantastic to meet you! I am a stunning Brown Tiger Male cat who is around 1 year old! I made my way to Stray Haven after a nice lady took me in to get me altered and took care of me until there was space for me here at the shelter. Not a lot is known about my past due to me being a stray, but I am quite an amazing kitty! I have gorgeous fur that is incredibly soft and shiny. My social and calm demeanor have made the staff gravitate towards me and they think that I am quite the catch! I am such a good boy that I regularly get time out to free roam with some of my cage mates! I use this time to watch out windows and explore my surroundings! When I'm not doing my exploring you can find me just lounging around and enjoying myself. I love to sleep in cat trees, chairs, and any kind of basket or cat bed. What can I say, I'm a cat who likes the simple things in life and doing my own thing. I'm not the type to seek out attention but I will always accept it when my human friends come to me. My new human friends here on the staff tell me that I should have no problem finding a home of my own. I hope that's the truth! I'd love to get back into a home and enjoy some of that home living like I was so used to. Until then, I'll be waiting for your arrival!Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Story
Hello, My name is Ally! I am a stunning Tabby and White female that is estimated to be about 11 years old. I was brought to Stray Haven when my previous owner's resident cat did not accept me into their family. This led to me hiding and becoming too afraid to come out to eat or use the litter box. I was an indoor/ outdoor cat but as I got older I was no longer interested in going outside. I lived with seniors in my previous home and they said that I love to play and I love getting any attention I can, but I'm not a fan of being held. I will wiggle my way out. I am a very sweet girl that wants nothing other than lots of love and attention. I would be a good fit in a nice quiet home where I can be myself and soak up all of the attention I can get. I haven't completely opened up here at the shelter yet, but I'm sure with time I will become myself, but hopefully I get a home before that happens. Will you be the one to give me a home? Come down to Stray Haven and meet me today! I am looking forward to meeting you and going back into a home where I belong!Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays

Hi there! I'm Dot. I'm a sweet Grey and white female that is estimated to be about 3 years old. I was brought to Stray Haven on a transport from the south. Not much is known about my past before I was brought here, but I am slowly telling my new human friends my story as they get to know me. I am definitely an independent lady and would do best in a home with no other kitty friends. I love getting pets and occasionally I will enjoy batting a toy around, but for the most part I'm a pretty relaxed gal. I'm the type to enjoy sitting on the couch snuggled up watching TV or perched in the window soaking up the sunshine. I'm hoping I find my forever home soon so come down to Stray Haven and meet me today!Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892(607) 565-2859, www.strayhavenspca.org Open hours:Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pmSaturday-Sunday 10am-4pmClosed on Mondays
