Domestic Shorthair kittens & cats in Athens, Texas

Star and Jackson are a bonded pair. They are about 8 months old and super playful! Star is a brown tabby with a floofy tail. Star may eventually be medium or long haired. Star came into our rescue along with 21 other cats that were abandoned in plastic totes on the side of the road on Christmas Eve. She was really malnourished and needed extra care for the last 4 months but now she has a clean bill of health! She loves to play with tunnels, wands, chase balls and chase other cats. Star and Jackson love to groom each other. Star loves to greet you with a hug and be held like a baby. She love Churu treats.

Star and Jackson love to groom each other. Jackson has 2 kinks in his tail which only add to his playful personality. He is very talkative and curious and absolutely loves Churu treats. He loves to come up and demand affection.

Edward is a short haired grey and white neutered and vaccinated male. He has the kindest soul ever and loves to be loved on and sit in your lap. He will quietly follow you around everywhere making sure you have a cat to pet at all times if the need arises. He can be playful and is often found napping with his kitty companions. He loves Churu treats and playing with balls and tunnels. This one is sure to steal your heart. Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted 8/19/14, and pictures taken 8/6/14.  Heather was trapped at an elderly woman's home in Jacksonville on 6/17/14, and delivered 4 babies overnight before she was to be spayed.  The elderly woman already has 15 to 18 adult cats and two litters of kittens.  We kept Heather and her kittens in our isolation room after they were born for privacy, and she has since been spayed.  She has the shape of a Siamese, but is Black, and there were two Siamese and a Snowshoe at the house.  I believe this is her first litter.  She was a feral cat, but her hormones turned her into a cat that just wanted to be pet all the time.  Now that some time has passed after being spayed, she is back to being skittish, so she needs a home that knows how to work with her, and will be patient.  She would need to start out in a small room like a bathroom, so a person can sit down with her without her being able to hide.  A long handled brush can be used, as well as catnip, and small amounts of can food to help the bonding process.  She runs from me, but once I have her in a certain spot where she can't run anymore, she will let me pet her, even though she hisses at me.  She can be around older children, but I would not put her around small children, unless she becomes very affectionate, which can happen once someone can spend the time with her that is needed. Egypt's mom is Lady.  She is very playful, but also quite proud.  She needs someone just as special to love her.  She likes to have fun, and then lays right next to me or in my lap.  She has never been outside and uses a litter box.  She was raised with dogs and has no fear, so you will have to make certain you pick out her playmates carefully so she does not get hurt for trusting the wrong person or dog. She has only seen the outside through a window.  Her markings are beautiful as you look at her.  She is so laidback after playtime, and will sit with me as long as I am sitting.  She desperately needs someone who is all her own, and you will have a cat who will bond with you forever.  Words cannot describe her as she is so precious and unique.  She is not afraid of dogs, but takes her time getting to know someone new. Please contact Tonya Griffith (TMSGriffith@aol.com) for more information about this pet.Posted 9/10/16, and pictures updated on 11/14/18 and 6/22/21.  Ivana and her siblings, as well as their mother Viola, were at an elderly woman's home in the Bullard, TX area, and needing to be relocated due to allergies and moving.  Ivana and her siblings were caught first on 8/1/16, and had been use to the elderly woman, so they were tame with her.  Ivana is very unique in that she also has some Peach coloring stripes under her front legs, and her stomach along with some Gray spots.  Ivana is still a little skittish of new people, but with one on one attention, she would probably be a good inside cat, but could be outside as well.
