Story
Meet Calypso 🐾 Calypso is a shy, sensitive young kitty who is still learning that the world — and people — can be safe and kind. When she first came into our care, she was very fearful and hissy, but she has never tried to bite or scratch. Instead, she tends to freeze up and observe quietly when she’s unsure. In foster, Calypso has already made encouraging progress. She was hissy her first night, but quickly settled and has since allowed handling for medications and incision care without fighting or incident. She may look nervous, but she is very tolerant and gentle, even when being picked up and cared for. Calypso seems to feel safest in cozy, enclosed spaces and currently prefers spending time in her covered crate, where she can watch what’s going on from a distance. While she isn’t quite ready for full-on affection yet, she has started accepting gentle pets and even leaned into chin scritches — a big step for a timid girl like her. When she thinks no one is watching, Calypso’s playful side comes out. She’s been caught pulling feathers into her crate to play with and batting around a jingle bell toy — and we’ve even seen her playing at the shop when she thought she was alone. She enjoys treats and is quietly curious about the world around her, and with time, patience, and a calm environment, we believe Calypso will continue to come out of her shell and gain confidence. Calypso would do best in a quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time — and that the most rewarding bonds are often the ones you earn slowly. If you’re looking for a gentle soul to help blossom, Calypso might be the perfect little project with a big heart waiting underneath. 💙

Meet Colorado 🐾 1–2 years old • ~8 lbs • Neutered male Colorado is a quiet, gentle young cat with a sweet soul and a thoughtful nature. He may be a little reserved at first, especially in new environments, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side starts to show. Colorado enjoys calm attention, gentle pets, and being near his people without demanding the spotlight. He’s the kind of cat who settles in quietly and becomes a steady, comforting presence in the home. Colorado has a soft, polite personality and would thrive in a peaceful environment where he can build trust at his own pace. He’s not flashy or over-the-top — just genuinely kind, loving, and easy to be around. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-key companion who will reward patience with quiet affection, Colorado may be the perfect fit for your home.

Story
Meet Dennis 🐾 1–2 years old • 11 lbs • Neutered male At a solid 11 pounds of pure charm, Dennis truly enjoys the finer things in life — like a comfy couch, a sunny windowsill, and uninterrupted nap time. He has mastered the art of relaxation and takes his lounging responsibilities very seriously. Dennis is an easygoing, mellow guy who brings a calm, comforting presence to a home, but he’s also a total sweetheart who loves attention. His foster says he greets people with little meows and chirps when they enter the room and happily soaks up pets and affection whenever he gets the chance. When he’s out and about, all Dennis really wants to do is snuggle and be close to his people — so much so that it’s hard to get good photos because he keeps coming in for cuddles. He uses the litter box well (though he is a very enthusiastic digger 😄), and overall is just a sweet, gentle companion who enjoys quiet time and human connection. Dennis can be a bit picky about other cats and would likely do best as an only cat or with a very slow introduction to the right feline friend. However, he does very well with dogs and could be a great fit for a dog-friendly home looking to add a cat. Dennis currently has a mild upper respiratory infection and is recovering, so he won’t be at in-person events this week — but he is still available to meet by appointment for approved adopters. If you’re looking for a laid-back, affectionate buddy who will greet you with soft chirps and happily share your couch and your sunshine, Dennis may be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Cholula 🌶️ 2 years old • Spayed female Cholula is a sweet, affectionate cat with a bold personality and very clear opinions about how she likes to be loved. She enjoys attention, seeks out affection, and loves being near her people — but she prefers interaction on her terms. Cholula is not a fan of being restrained, having her feet touched, or being held on her back. She does best with gentle pets, calm handling, and keeping all four paws on the ground. Cholula communicates clearly when she’s had enough and thrives with people who understand cat body language and respect boundaries. In the right home, this makes her an easy, rewarding companion who enjoys affection without being overwhelmed. She would do best in an adult-only home or with older, cat-savvy teens who understand that not all cats enjoy being picked up. Cholula is affectionate, engaging, and full of personality — she just appreciates being listened to. If you’re looking for a confident, loving cat who knows what she likes and wants a relationship built on mutual respect, Cholula might be your perfect match.
