Story
Kenna and Harbor are a bonded tuxedo sister pair. They were rescued as youngsters, then adopted, only to be returned to us by Animal Control when they were taken from their owner due to a hoarding situation. They did great when they were with the rescue previously; unfortunately, they both regressed and it has taken us months to get them to trust humans again. But now, although neither one likes being held, they are ready to find their forever home together! Kenna is definitely the protector of her sister. Kenna is a great model! Every time her foster mom tries to take photos of the other cats, it’s really difficult because Kenna LOVES to be the center of attention! Harbor has beautiful markings on her face! She loves to lay on the cat tree and watch what’s happening outside.  They both love playing with wands, watching cat TV, and sleeping in the cat tree. Currently, they’re eating Fancy Feast gravy lovers wet food and Purina One adult dry food. They get along with cats, dogs, and kids. Please see our rescue information for our adoption fees or email us at billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com. ‼️Help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered! 💯
We'll also keep you updated on Kenna's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Well hello there, my name is Miss Peach!  I’m a sweet, cuddly and sometimes sassy 9 year old girl looking for my just right, FINALLY forever home, the one I’ve been searching for all my life! I was brought in from outside as a kitten, and I stayed in my first home for a while, then I got adopted through the rescue by my most recent human. Unfortunately, when my human moved in with family who also had furkids, I did NOT do well.  I have a strong dislike for other cats, and I was getting aggressive with my human due to my stress. My owner brought me back to the rescue, very sad to say goodbye to me, but knowing that I needed a different environment.  My helpers at the rescue have spent a lot of time assessing me to determine what my triggers are and what I need in my forever home.  Here’s what they say about me: “Miss Peach is an incredibly sweet girl with humans.  The only time, since coming to rescue, that she has exhibited any swatting to people, is when other cats are close by, and she is therefore stressed.  One on one, she loves to be petted, curl up on warm laps, and even be picked up (and she will politely let you know when she wants to be put back down please!) Miss Peach enjoys a good meal, and she especially likes wet food. She is such a sweet girl, and is so ready for a calm, loving family of her own; it breaks our hearts to see the sadness in her eyes as other kitties get adopted and go home with their forever families, wondering when it is finally going to be her turn.” Ok, it’s me, Miss Peach again!  Down to the brass tacks of my just-right forever home:  I do need an adults-only, very calm and quiet home with patient adopters who are willing to give me time to settle in and feel safe (it’s hard starting over at 9 years old, ya know?)  I need to be the only queen of your castle, as I don’t do well with other animals at all.  Believe me, I have more than enough love to give you! I enjoy fluffy snuggly beds and blankets for naps, and I like a good cardboard scratcher too!   My helpers say one of my most endearing features is my little frownie mouth, which makes me look like I’m always worried—it makes them want to hug all my worries away!  I REALLY hope you’ll come meet me soon…..I can’t wait til it’s my turn to be the one going to my long-awaited furever home!   Please see our rescue information for our adoption fees or email us at billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com. ‼️Help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered! 💯

Story
Hi, my name is Basil!  I’m a gorgeous, petite 6 year old gray girl with a seriously playful inner kitten! I have been on a LONG road to find my happily ever after.  I came to Animal Control as a mama when I was around 2, and then I came to BTKR to get ready for adoption.  I was adopted, but then a few months ago, through no fault of my own, my family surrendered me.  When I came back to the rescue, I was really scared, and they aren’t quite sure what might have happened to me, but they know for sure that I will need a really calm, quiet home with adults only, who will be patient with me and give me time to feel safe and comfortable. Once I feel safe, you will see a WHOLE other side of me—I turn into a lovin, playin machine!  I LOVE pets, and I will come up behind you and gently bonk your head with mine to let you know I’m there and waiting for pets.  I’m not a fan of being picked up, but I like to be near you, and I’m very affectionate.  I’m very chatty and like to discuss all the events of the day with you. I really love to play!  I don’t think I had a chance to really be a kitten before I became a mama myself.  I really want a family who will play with me a lot and help me make up for lost time.  I adore wand toys with feathers—I will hear them from anywhere and come running!  I also love tall cat trees, as having a high up place to perch helps me to feel secure.   I’m a big fan of cozy cave beds, especially on cold days.  And I LOVE a good window view to watch the goings on of the world!   I have a good appetite, and I really enjoy wet food a lot.  If there are other cats in the home, I prefer to have my own eating space; I’m not sure why, but I get a little bit nervous about sharing my food, and sometimes I will run off if other cats are near my food.  I do like other cats, but not if they are very dominant or overly pushy with me.  I can get intimidated easily, so I’ll need a home where any other cats are very calm and gentle.   I do sometimes get a runny eye if I’m under the weather or stressed; it turns out that I have a really minor virus, the herpes virus, that pretty much all cats are exposed to in our lives.  Most kitties never show symptoms, but some of us have occasional flares with it.  It’s not contagious to humans, so don’t worry!  Mine turns up in that darn runny eye. With some lysine supplement in my food, cleaning my eye, and occasionally antibiotics, it clears up.  It tends to flare if I’m under stress, so I’m guessing once I’m settled into a new home and routine it won’t be a huge issue.   I’m really hoping to find my happily ever after…I’ve waited such a long time!  Could you be the fairy tale beginning of my new life?     Please see our rescue information for our adoption fees or email us at billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com. ‼️Help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered! 💯

Story
Hello! My name is Merlin (FKA Versailles)! I’m shy at first, but I love to come up for pets when you're just relaxing on the couch or laying in bed. I don’t need much, all I ask is you love me unconditionally and give me lots of snuggles! I’m not too fond of toys but I do have a tendency to cave for the laser pointer! My perfect home includes a buddy; I prefer male cats but I’m fine with females as long as they’re nice to me. I need to be with other gentle cats since I’m very passive and won't stand up for myself when it comes to bullies! I’m okay with calm dogs - in my foster home, I didn't mind the golden retriever being in the room at all. Please see our rescue information for our adoption fees or email us at billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com. ‼️Help control the pet population - have your pets spayed or neutered! 💯

Meet Stella, aka Hot Lips Hannigan! This pretty girl is a fun-loving, super sweet and spunky kitten! She was born in August 2021. She loves to be loved, but she also loves to play! When she's not snuggled up with one of her foster siblings, she's running around playing with everything from boxes and brooms to her surrogate English mastiff and pit bull moms! She loves big dogs, and she also gets along great with other cats and kids, so she’d be a purrfect addition to any active home! Please see our rescue information for our adoption fees or email us at billythekiddenrescue@gmail.com.
