Introducing Kai, a 7 year old female Dutch shepherd. She has lived a wonderful life and has been well cared for and socialized but her owner has come into hard times and has to make the incredibly hard decision to find her a new home. He loves her so much and knows she deserves the world that he can’t provide. Please no rude comments, he is heartbroken. Kai is an incredibly intelligent dog. She absolutely adores people. She is 7 years old but she is still ready for adventures. Kai will need a family that will provide daily exercise and then a couch to sleep on! Kai is good with other dogs, especially male dogs. She has also been around cats and was great with them. Kai has been professionally trained and is housetrained. Kai is located in Huntsville AL. Meet Vanilla Bean (A564368), a gentle soul looking for a soft place to land. This sweet girl is on the timid side and truly comes alive when she is outside. It seems likely she spent much of her life outdoors, because being in the yard brings her so much peace. If you sit with her, she will slowly work her way over to give quiet kisses, then go back to sniffing and exploring like the curious little lady she is.Vanilla Bean walks well on leash and absolutely loved spending time outside, especially when hot dogs were involved. Those did not stand a chance. She can pancake if someone stands up too quickly or leans over her, so she will need a patient, understanding person who moves at her pace and lets trust build naturally.Vanilla Bean has not yet been tested with other dogs, but she has shown herself to be very kind and gentle, just shy. She would likely do best in a calmer, quieter home, possibly with older adults or a low key environment where she can relax and feel safe. With time, patience, and kindness, Vanilla Bean has all the potential to become a loyal companion who just wants to enjoy the simple things in life.Vanilla Bean is guesstimated to be 3 years old and weighs 60 lbs.
