Jax came to us as a rambunctious 1 year old from the county shelter. He is extremely high energy and needs a job. He is now 6 years old, neutered, chipped, and has NO HUMAN BITE HISTORY. He herds by nature of his breed and is often found under foot or right by your fingertips. He is house trained and crate trained. He does jump at the fence at passers by and we installed a sub fence to avoid him greeting walkers at eye level. Jax and our lab mix have had a number of fights causing vet bills, injuries to them both and unease in our home. This is behavior he has exhibited since we got him but has recently escalated. Jax is reactive when leashed and when he feels cornered or his resources are perceived restricted. He is treat driven but even with treats and training there continues to be fighting. We believe an adult only home with an active human and no other pets Jax would be a happy and safe guy.

My Christmas Wish to be in a loving home My name is Butch I’m around 3 yrs old, Dutch Shepherd mix I’m a medium size boy at around 35lbs. My volunteer friend took me out on a day trip to get a long-needed break from kennel life at the boarding facility. I was so excited, I hopped right into the car and off we went. I ride like a champ in the car. We arrived at our destination there were so many cool smells. Another volunteer and a fur-dog named Sherry joined us. I loved smelling everything, I walked well on leash I did pull at first just because I was so excited to explore. We saw lots of bike riders/joggers and other dogs. I did get excited about a few dogs that passed because they were barking at me, but I took correction well from my humane friend. We went up hills and rocks, it was so cool I felt like I was on top of the world. I was having the time of my life. I would LOVE to do this again with my fur-ever family. I’m an active boy who loves to play a good game of fetch! I LOVE booty scratches. I know some basic commands, and I take my treats gently. Sometimes I can be a shy boy with a big personality!! Meet Marley! This sweet, loving girl is looking for an adopter who will be patient with her in order to see her reach her full potential. Marley was originally found as a stray in Vail, AZ in February. After staying with her finder for a month, one of our longtime fosters took her in, but has not had luck finding her the right home yet. Marley is good with other dogs, but has shown that she can be protective of her human. Despite the protectiveness, we think Marley would do best in a home with at least one other dog that will respect her space. Given her background, this will help to ease any separation anxiety she has as she adjusts. In her foster home she can get rambunctious, but a short walk and a trip to the dog park helps get her energy out and releases any anxiety she might have. Because of her being territorial of her human and some separation anxiety, Marley would do best in a home where she is not left alone for too many hours at a time. Marley has also done well with the cat in her foster home – she has shown no sign of prey drive to harm. Her fosters think she would do well with children based on her temperament and playfulness, but as always we recommend supervision. Marley needs someone who can dedicate the time and willingness to continue to work with her and who will have patience for her through her initial adjustment period.
