Story
This sweet little man is Charlie! Charlie came to us in rough shape. He was extremely malnourished and had a head laceration after being struck by a car and left on the side of the road. Charlie had a rough start to life but don’t let his hardship fool you, he is the sweetest boy and absolutely loves everyone he meets! His favorite things are playing with his toys and swimming! Charlie is a pretty chill dude but would love a family to bring him on lots of adventures. He has been introduced to a couple other dogs and loves to play with other friendly dogs. He has been around cats and would do fine in a home with confident cats. Charlie has meet some children and loves all the attention they give him. This boy enjoys being outside to play but tends to chew/eat sticks and rocks, so it is very important for the family to keep a close eye on him when he’s outside so he is not doing those things. Charlie is crate trained and doing well with his potty training, but occasionally has some accident still. Someone who is able to work on basic training with Charlie with positive reinforcement is important. Charlie needs a family to show him the good life and treat him like a real member of the family like he deserves, could that be you?  Charlie is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed! With an approved application Charlie’s adoption fee is $300October 24, 2024, 7:04 pm

Story
Eli is truly a sweetheart. Gorgeous as can be - weighing in at about 65 pounds, at just over a year old, we think he believes he's a small lap dog. While he's so curious about the world around him, he's hesitant to get out of his shell and live it up! He thrives when he's got leadership from a person, and consistently looks for it. Whether he's at your side, or lying at your feet, he checks in all the time, very oriented towards his people. But that's when he's not out having a blast in doggy play-group! He's a very lovey dovey guy! We know he wouldn't be anxious if he had the guidance throughout his whole life, but since he hasn't, he's unsure what to do with himself. Anytime we help him out, tell him what to do, when to do it, it lights up his world. Really helping him make sense of what's going on around him, and keeping him satisfied, feeling like he's apart of something. It's like a sudden rush of calmness rushes over him, and when he's being loved on, of course. The times that we aren't able to hangout with him, he spends calm gnawing on a bone, holding it with his 2 front paws like a goofball. Or by napping, he doesn't mind not having a whole lot to do, and definitely doesn't mind when fetch is involved. He adores chuck-it balls to the extreme, personally, I think they're his main motivator when we are working with him. Though, he's definitely a food motivated fella, too! Eli does great with other dogs, and every person willing to give him a second to warm up, and the ball, or some treats. Eli knows all of his basics, is crate-trained, and house-broke; making the transition a whole lot easier, he's in a foster home! We'd like Eli's adopter to have knowledge, and or experience with Shepherds, as he truly has the natural potential to be outstanding. My adoption fee is only $210! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter! Think I might be the right fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!! DISCLAIMER: Genetic Breed accuracy is NOT guaranteed; we assess by the following: Interview with or paperwork from with the previous owner Intake evaluation observations (behavior, physical appearance, and energy level) Source documents from which to analyze characteristics Consultation with other staff

Story
Meet Ducky! This beautiful girl was pulled from a kill shelter minutes before she was to be put down. She can be a little skittish, but LOVES to play with everyone and doesn’t mind getting some head scratches too. 💕She is dog friendly and no issues with kids as long as they respect that she needs to come to them for pets since she is nervous at first. Not cat friendly as she wants to chase them. She does think she is a cat though and will lay in the back of the couch whenever she can(it’s actually a comfort thing) but it makes me laugh! Ducky seems to be a very all around sweet girl! She will do great in just about any home, she does have some energy as she’s still young so will need a family that can help get her energy out or a fur-sibling to runaround with. This sweet girl is ready for her furever family that she can play and love on without any worries in the world. Could Ducky be the right girl for you? 🥰
