Story
Meet Brooks!! This handsome hunk came in as a stray on 12/4/25, and we think he’s about 2 years old. Brooks is absolutely gorgeous — and a big guy — but no one has told him that! He has no idea how large and strong he is, which becomes very clear when he decides your lap is exactly where he belongs. Brooks hasn’t quite mastered personal space or polite manners yet, but he is smart and eager to learn. With guidance, structure, and someone willing to teach him, he’ll blossom into the well-mannered companion he’s meant to be. Brooks is available for adoption, so hurry in to meet this lovable goofball! Brooks is located at the Richland County Dog Shelter in Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 It is an application process — you can request an application at dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov

Story
Indiana BonesMaleD.O.B. 10/26/2025Expected Full Grown Weight: 50-60 lbsBreed: German Shepherd mix Hi, I’m Indiana Bones — adventurer, professional goofball, and full-time puppy. I’m a curious, silly, and super sweet young pup who’s still discovering the world (and occasionally trying to chew it). I get along great with other dogs, kids, and even cats — though I really want to play with the cats, and I’m still learning that they may not share my enthusiasm. Because I’m still a baby, I’m working on my manners. I’m learning not to be mouthy, improving my leash skills, and figuring out this whole potty-training thing. I’m crate trained and do really well in my crate, which I’ll need when left alone for now since I’m still so young. I currently eat three meals a day (growing explorer energy!), and I usually wake up once or twice at night for quick potty breaks. I’m a busy boy who loves being outside, romping around, and playing with my sister. My favorite treasures include non-stuffed plush toys (especially squirrels!), chew toys, and anything that squeaks. When my adventures are done for the day, I turn into the cuddliest little guy and love to snuggle up for naps and bedtime. I enjoy meeting new people and dogs, but I’m still building confidence in new situations. I’ll do best with someone who’s excited to help me socialize, grow my confidence, and guide me as I become the brave, well-mannered dog I’m meant to be. If you’re looking for a fun-loving puppy with a big heart and even bigger personality, I might just be your perfect adventure buddy. If you are interested in meeting Indiana Bones apply to adopt him at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $395. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2634943##

Marion BarkwoodFemaleD.O.B. 10/26/2025Expected Full Grown Weight: 40-50 lbsBreed: German Shepherd mix Hi, I’m Marion Barkwood — your future adventure buddy with a big heart and lots of energy. I’m a sweet, loving, and active puppy who’s always ready to move, play, and explore. I get along well with other dogs, kids, and even cats — though I should warn you, I really want to romp and play with the cats, whether they’re ready for it or not. I especially love chasing the kitten around the house (all in good fun!). Because I’m still young, I’m learning my manners. I’m working on not being mouthy or chewing things I shouldn’t, and I’m still polishing my potty training skills — but I’m doing really well! I usually wake up once or twice overnight for potty breaks, which shows I already understand that my crate should stay clean. Speaking of crates, I’m crate trained and do great in one, and I’ll need to be crated when left alone while I’m still a puppy. I’m a high-energy girl and, thanks to my breed, I’ll grow into an active dog who needs an equally active family. I currently eat three meals a day, but I’m slowly transitioning to two as I grow. My favorite treats are all of them — but hard chews are my absolute favorite. I love non-stuffed plush toys, chew toys, and I’m just starting to discover how fun it is to chase balls. When I’m not zooming around, I love going for car rides, being outside, and romping with my brother. I’m a bit of a nervous girl when meeting new people or animals, so I’ll need someone patient and committed to helping me socialize and build confidence in new environments. Oh, and I will need to be spayed when I am old enough. If you’re looking for a loving, energetic puppy who’s eager to learn and ready for lots of adventures (with a little reassurance along the way), I might be the perfect match for you. If you are interested in meeting Marion Barkwood apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $395. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2634944##
