Meet Hiccup This brave little guy is new to the rescue and already showing everyone what resilience looks like.At just 4–6 months old, this Dutch Shepherd puppy has been through more than most. Due to a severe infection, Hiccup had to have one of his back legs amputated—but don’t let that fool you… he’s already learning how to navigate the world on three and doing it like a champ. He’s currently safe in a loving foster home, resting and recovering from surgery yesterday. Right now, he needs time to heal, grow stronger, and just be a puppy again.Hiccup may be missing a leg, but he’s not missing any heart. We’ll share more updates as he continues to recover—this boy has a bright future ahead of him.Apply online: everydogmattersrescue.orgLocated in Youngstown, OH.

Story
Zella has been our baby since she was born—we own her dad also. She’ll be 8 yrs old in October & unfortunately she was diagnosed a couple years ago with hypothyroidism. With 2 kids & another on the way along with me not being able to work, we can no longer afford her medications. I’d love for her to be in a home where she can get the proper care/meds she needs so she can keep living a high quality life. She’s such a sweetheart, very good with kids (we have toddlers), other dogs & cats. As bad as it breaks our hearts to even write this post, we just want her to have a better life than what we are able to give right now. **She does have some fur loss from missing medications unfortunately (you can see a bit on her chest in last pic) but with her meds (thyroid pill + med shampoo) it will be back within just a few weeks.

Story
Sigrid — 5-year-old spayed female German Shepherd, 85 lbs. My wife got her at 6 weeks old and raised her. One home her whole life. House trained, crate trained, stays off beds and furniture on her own. Very obedient. Good on leash. Good with strangers and visitors. Excellent with my 8-year-old son, gentle around our new baby. Good with other dogs unless they're aggressive. Never been around cats. Playful and high energy. Needs a real outlet for it. Spayed June 2026, rabies at that visit. Up to date on vaccines, though we don't have all the paperwork. We have a premature baby, a half fenced yard, and we're moving to an area that doesn't allow large breeds. She isn't getting what she needs from us right now. That's the whole reason we're rehoming her. We both work remotely so we try our best but it's still not enough. Looking for a fenced yard or someone who'll actually exercise her/pay better attention to her. I think she'd be great with a big family.
