*WE AREN'T A SHELTER. WE'RE A FOSTER-BASED RESCUE* Bridger showed up in Newcastle as a stray when he was a young puppy, but sadly nobody claimed him. He's a smart young boy that we think is almost a year old, and all he wants is to be near his humans. He's excellent with other dogs, give great cuddles and has been a quick learner in his foster home. Apply on our website to make him part of your family: SHELTERFRIENDS.ORG

Story
Hi, hi, oh hi!  My name is Bella and I am so happy to meet you.  I am a four year old girl that weighs over eighty pounds.  They think I am a German shepherd mix.  I came to the rescue after my family was moving and they dropped me off at a city shelter where I could die.  Lucky for me the rescue came and took me out of there.  So I am looking for a safe, new home.   I am a fun, water loving girl.  I enjoy my people, cuddles and car rides.  I have been around cats and will play with other dogs but am best suited as an only dog or have a male furry friend.  I know how to use a doggie dog, am house trained and know my basic manners.  I like to stay close to my people.  Everyone has faults and mine is high value resource guarding. I absolutely think Kleenex and treats are very valuable and don’t want to give them up or share them. I have been working on it with a trainer and she can help you and me both.  For those reasons I think small children are not a good match for my new home. I do enjoy activity like walking or playing ball but with my size I admit my endurance is low. I am curious and sometimes get distracted exploring new things.  You know, I guess you could say I like to check out my surroundings.  I have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated (including canine influenza) and am current on my heartworm/flea & tick preventatives.  My adoption fee is 150.00.  The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for me, Bella at dogsasfamily.org.  You and me, we could be true friends and I would love you no matter what.  Can you love me that much? Miss Lottie - look at those eyes!! This gal loves to play once she’s comfortable. A little slower to warm up but when she does what an amazing gal! She loves playing with other dogs (once she is used to them) has a tad of the GSD protective side and is sure to make the right family complete! ##1896507##

Story
Meet Snuggles Friday! This sweet girl is a German Shepherd mix. We did a wisdom panel on her and found out she is a German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute and White Swiss Shepherd! She is just over a year old and about 75 pounds. She’s a surrender from a breeder, so we have pictures of her parents and her date of birth. Snuggles is a happy sweet puppy. She’s perfectly crate and leash trained and will sleep overnight with no accidents! She’s a happy girl that really loves people once she knows you and loves to play. She comes when she’s called and really wants to please. She loves her toys and playing with her friends. She also recently completed a two month training course with Guardian Angels, a training program for rescue dogs in Oklahoma! Interested in becoming a forever home for Snuggles? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Snuggles. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Snuggles the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!
