Story
Don't let his "older adult" status fool you—Dax still has plenty of pep in his step! This handsome guy is energetic, playful, and absolutely loves life. Whether he's enjoying playtime, exploring the yard, or spending time with his people, Dax approaches every day with enthusiasm and joy. Dax recently returned to our rescue through no fault of his own. His family experienced significant life changes and made the difficult decision to ask for our help finding him a home where he can truly be part of the family. They loved him enough to make sure he would have the opportunity to find the right fit. Some of our longtime supporters may remember Dax by his original rescue name, Bear. He was part of the second class of our STAR Inmate Training Program when it first began, and he excelled from day one. That intelligence and eagerness to please are still very much a part of who he is. Dax is a smart dog who enjoys learning and loves making his people proud. Dax has successfully lived with other dogs and children and has experience being a beloved family companion. He knows what it's like to be part of a home and is ready to find that connection again. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving dog with a great personality, a solid training foundation, and lots of love left to give, Dax may be the perfect addition to your family. He's ready for his next chapter—could it be with you?   ##561035##

Story
Serenity is just 5 months old, and she has already spent half of her life growing up in a shelter. Let that sink in. Half of this sweet girl`s life has been spent behind kennel doors instead of learning what it means to be part of a family.Serenity is a fun, energetic, playful puppy who has so much personality and even more love to give. But growing up in a shelter isn`t easy, especially for a puppy who needs attention, guidance, and structure during such an important stage of her life.Like any baby, Serenity is still learning her manners. She can be very mouthy and loves to give little love bites, but she hasn`t been taught yet that those puppy teeth aren`t the best way to show affection. She needs someone willing to work with her, redirect that energy, and teach her how to be the wonderful dog we know she can become. The longer Serenity grows up in a kennel, the more opportunities she misses to learn the everyday things that puppies should be experiencing in a home. She needs someone now, while she`s still young, to help her build good habits before she gets bigger and those puppy behaviors become harder to manage.Serenity isn`t a bad puppy. She`s just a baby who hasn`t had the chance to learn. She needs patience, consistency, exercise, and someone who understands that raising a puppy takes work—but the reward is worth it.Please don`t pass Serenity by because she`s a little wild, a little mouthy, or needs some extra guidance. She`s not asking for someone to love a perfect dog. She`s asking for someone willing to help her become one.Serenity has already spent half her life waiting. Let`s make sure she doesn`t spend the rest of her puppyhood growing up in a shelter.

Story
Kyle first came to us as a puppy and was adopted when he was just a couple of months old. Now, at just over a year old, he has found his way back to us—and it’s clear he missed out on a lot of the things that make puppyhood special.Kyle is still learning the basics. He is working on his commands and manners, and he’s making progress every day. When he first came back to us, the leash was so frightening that we had to carry him everywhere—even to the play yard! But Kyle is a brave boy, and he has worked hard. Today, he can walk on a leash and do it with confidence. What Kyle does know is how to love. He is all things sweet and gets incredibly excited when his people come to see him. He loves attention, loves to play, and simply wants to be part of the action. He is also working on keeping all four paws on the floor because sometimes his excitement gets the best of him!Kyle may need someone willing to give him the time, patience, and guidance he should have had all along. But for the person looking for a companion to grow with, teach, and build a bond with, Kyle has the potential to be something truly special.Give Kyle the chance to learn what being someone`s dog is really supposed to feel like.
