Story
Hi I'm Savvy!! A super smart and loyal friend looking for an active human to hike, jog, and camp with. I love lounging equally and won't judge if we just do a lazy day Sunday as well. Heck, I'll even wear your favorite team's jersey! Just don't forget the chips and snacks because I enjoy those too! Other dogs are fine and just give me a minute to get to know them; after that, it's all fun!

Story
I was left in front of an abandoned store to fend for myself. My luck changed, however, when some kind humans got me to safety. I am a young and active guy. I would love a doggie friend or even a jogger to take me out. I do know a few commands, am in excellent health, and can't wait to find my forever family. I have not met cats yet.

Story
Jack is an amazing boy. He loves to play, has lots of energy and is so smart. He has spent time with a trainer when he was with his previous owner.  Due to some unfortunate life circumstances, he was given back to us.  He had previously been adopted from us back in 2021.  He knows all of the basic commands. He is house and crate trained.  Let me tell you..he is ball driven!  He loves to run and plays well with other dogs. Due to his size and nature, I would not put him in a home with little ones.  He is far too big and very driven to be in a home with no rules.  He needs a strong handler who is firm but he does NOT need to be heavy handed either.  He reponds well to structure and loves to show off how smart he is.  He also loved to be in the pool at his previous home.   All Lani’s Lucky Shepherds receive an individual examination by a local veterinarian, are current on vaccinations, spay or neutered, microchipped, and tested for heart worms and other intestinal worms and parasites. All incoming dogs receive Drontal Plus de-wormer or its equivalent as an extra precautionary step to go above and beyond to keep our rescued dogs healthy. We feed our rescue dogs high quality dog food and supplements while they live in our foster homes. All these costs are paid for by our rescue. You won’t have to pay for these normal costs or bother with the headaches of having to take your new dog to a vet for all these procedures. We strongly suggest that you complete the adoption application process before choosing a dog from our web page. Most of the dogs on this web page will have approved adopters already looking at them. We get new dogs on a regular basis. The application process can take a couple of weeks depending on your schedule. You will have access to all of our available dogs once you are approved to adopt a rescue dog. Please visit www.luckyshepherds.com for more information. Please note that we only serve the Greater Houston area. We do not adopt our dogs to homes outside of the Houston and its neighboring areas. ##990194##

Story
Meet Tigresa Female DOB: January 18, 2026 Weight: 10 lbs (current) medium size Breed: Carolina Dog / Dutch Shepherd Mix Spayed (Fixed): Pending (age-appropriate) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Tigresa is a sweet, active puppy with a loving personality and a bright, curious spirit. She enjoys exploring the world around her, playing, and staying close to her people. She has that adorable puppy combination of playful energy and affectionate sweetness that makes every day fun. She is still very young and learning about routines, boundaries, and everyday life. Tigresa enjoys interaction, engagement, and companionship and would thrive in a home excited to help her grow into a confident adult dog. As a Carolina Dog / Dutch Shepherd mix, Tigresa may show traits such as intelligence, alertness, athleticism, and strong loyalty to her people. Dutch Shepherd-type dogs are often eager to learn and highly engaged with their families, while Carolina Dog traits can bring awareness, adaptability, and independence. Tigresa will likely grow into an active and intelligent dog who thrives with: Daily exercise and engagement Mental stimulation and training Structure and consistency Inclusion as part of the family She would do best in a home prepared for the time, patience, and commitment that come with raising a growing puppy. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even puppies require significant training, supervision, and socialization as they grow. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Tigresa will need: Positive reinforcement training Frequent potty breaks and supervision Patience and consistency during puppy stages Socialization with people, sounds, and environments Guidance through teething and chewing phases Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, structure, and love, puppies like Tigresa grow into incredible lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Tigresa will need: Daily interaction, exercise, and engagement Continued puppy training and socialization Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment As a growing puppy, she will also need continued monitoring of her growth, nutrition, and development. Tigresa is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Story
Meet Francesca! 💜 Francesca is such a spontaneous little dog—she can be half asleep, then suddenly hear other dogs playing and jump up to sprint right into the action. She definitely still thinks she’s as big as her foster brothers! With all the recent rain, her foster has found out she LOVES water. She’ll hesitate for a second going outside, but once she’s out there, she’s running around, playing in the rain, and even laying in puddles like it’s the best thing ever. She’s still learning corrections here and there like any puppy, but something definitely switched when it comes to bath time—now she stands there plotting her escape, so you have to keep an eye on her because she’s sneaky! On the flip side, she’s super patient when it’s time to towel dry and will just sit there waiting. If it ever gets really quiet and you can’t find her, she’s most likely just napping. She really is the most playful little bundle of joy. She’s also coming along with crate training—starting to understand it’s her safe space, and I’ll catch her choosing to nap in there sometimes. She’s still learning basic commands like sit, lay down, and wait, but she’s making progress. She just got the all clear for walks, so she’ll be starting leash training soon! If you’re looking for a fun, playful, and loving puppy to add to your family, Francesca might be the perfect fit! Interested in adopting Francesca? 💜 Apply here- linktr.ee/zoisanimalrescue

Story
Benedict is the definition of cuddly. This handsome boy is the perfect balance of playful and affectionate, making him an easy fit for many different types of families. He loves attention, has the sweetest personality, and is always ready to share plenty of kisses with his favorite people. Benedict gets along wonderfully with cats, dogs, and children of all ages. He is incredibly gentle, takes treats politely, and has a calm, loving nature that makes everyone feel like a friend. He would likely thrive either as an only dog soaking up all the attention or with a canine companion to play alongside. When it's time for fun, Benedict is happy to romp around and play, but he's just as content to curl up beside you for a cuddle session and a nap afterward. His balanced energy level makes him the perfect mix of adventure buddy and couch companion. One of Benedict's favorite things in the world is water! Whether it's a trip to the lake, splashing around in a kiddie pool, or lounging on the steps of a backyard pool, this boy is happiest when he can cool off and enjoy the water. If you're looking for a gentle, affectionate dog who loves everyone he meets and is always ready for both fun and snuggles, Benedict may be your perfect match. ❤️🐾

Story
Daphne is a spunky little firecracker with a big personality packed into a tiny pup! She’s extremely playful, super active, and always ready to keep you entertained with her silly antics and signature sass. This girl loves to use her voice, so expect some opinions from her—and plenty of laughs along the way. She’s incredibly smart and already picking up on routines quickly. Daphne hasn’t had any accidents and will wander or act a little restless when she needs to go out, showing great awareness for her age. She’s also sleeping through the night like a champ! Daphne is very interested in other dogs and will cry to be with them, so she’s likely to do great with canine companions once she’s cleared to play. Just be ready—this sweet girl is in her “bite bite bite” puppy phase and will need guidance as she learns!
