DOB: 2/11/2022Breed: Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier mix-Neutered Male 50lbs-Microchipped & fully vaccinated-Negative for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, and on a monthly preventative*Adoption Fee $300*A little bit about me… Hey there! I’m Alfred. I know I might not make the best first impression from inside my kennel. This has been my “home” for a long time, and I can come off a little strong when meeting new people. Please don’t let that stop you from getting to know me! I just take a little time building trust, but once you’re in, you’re in for life. I tend to warm up to women a little faster, but no matter who you are, if you give me a chance, I’ll show you my sweet and loyal side. I love going on long walks and playing fetch. Give me a long-lasting chew toy or a bone, and I’ll be the happiest pup around. I’ve spent most of my life waiting for my person. Could it be you? The highlights…-Guardian at heart-I display clean kennel behavior -I’d make a great hiking buddy-Very devoted to my peopleMy ideal home would include…-Patience is key. I may take time to adjust to a new home environment. Time, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help me as I learn.-Ongoing training and socialization. After spending most of my time in a shelter, I will have gaps in my social skills with people and other animals. Structed training, firm leadership, and controlled introductions to new situations will be essential.-Exercise and mental stimulation. Dogs with limited past experiences often have pent-up energy and curiosity. Regular exercise, enrichment activities, and structured routine will help me thrive

I’m a big scruffy ball of energy looking for someone who can keep up with me! I’ve got a heart full of love and a playful spirit, but I’ll be honest, I can be a bit stubborn. I love to roughhouse, and sometimes I forget that play biting isn’t the best way to show affection. That’s why I need a strong leader who will teach me good manners with patience and consistency. I have tons of energy, so a vigorous lifestyle will suit me best. If you love hiking, running, or just playing until we’re both exhausted, I’m your guy! I’m still working on my social skills and play style, so I’ll need someone who’s willing to help me learn the ropes. If you’re looking for a fun-loving companion who’s ready for adventure, I’d love to meet you! Think you’re up for the challenge? Come say hi! I promise I’m worth it!The highlights…-Lots of bones and strong toys are a must!-Silly and entertaining to watch -I am very active and will benefit from lots of exercise-I love playing in water! My ideal home would include…-Patience is key. I have been in a shelter for the majority of my life, so I may not be familiar with household routines, basic commands, or even simple things like stairs or furniture. -Experience with training, and/or under-socialized dogs. -Exercise and Mental Stimulation. Dogs with limited past experiences often have pent-up energy and curiosity. Regular exercise, enrichment activities, and puzzle toys will help me thrive and prevent boredom

Meet Nook & Cranny – The Perfect Pair! Looking for double the love, double the laughs, and double the cuddles? Meet Nook & Cranny, an adorable bonded pair who are ready to find their forever home together! At around 2 years old, this unlikely duo—a Chiweenie and a French Bulldog—proves that opposites really do attract. They rely on each other for comfort, confidence, and companionship, and they wouldn't have it any other way. Nook is the more timid of the two and looks to Cranny for reassurance whenever she's feeling nervous. She always makes sure he's nearby and, when she's really scared, she'll snuggle up and hide underneath him. It's one of the sweetest things you'll ever see! Cranny is her protector, best friend, and constant source of comfort. These two are easygoing, affectionate, and love spending time with their people. Whether they're going for a leisurely walk, playing outside, or curling up on the couch for a TV marathon, they're happiest simply being together with the people they love. Because of their small size, they should always be supervised while outside. Nook & Cranny are crate trained, although they'd much rather snuggle up and sleep with their foster family. They're also potty trained, but because they're little dogs with little bladders, they can't be left alone for long periods of time or accidents may happen. Their perfect forever home would include: A family committed to keeping them together forever. Someone who is home most of the day and would love constant companionship. A securely fenced backyard where they can safely play, explore, and soak up the sunshine. Plenty of cuddle time on the couch while watching your favorite TV shows. Nook & Cranny share a bond that's truly special, and they're looking for a family who will cherish them both just as much as they cherish each other. If you're ready to welcome two loving hearts into your home, these sweet best friends are waiting to meet you! Her adoption fee of $350 helps offset the rescue's medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*  helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ .   *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up July 23, 2026, 1:44 pm
