Meet Monica Female DOB: October 14, 2022 Weight: 40 pounds Breed: Feist Terrier Mix Spayed (Fixed): Yes Vaccines: Up to Date Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Monica is a wonderful adult dog with a loving personality, loyal nature, and the perfect balance of energy and companionship. At 3 years old, she has moved beyond the puppy stage but still enjoys an active lifestyle and spending time with her people. She is affectionate, intelligent, and enjoys being part of the family. Whether she's joining you for a walk, exploring the outdoors, or relaxing at home after a busy day, Monica thrives on companionship and forming strong bonds with her humans. As a Feist Terrier Mix, Monica is likely to be intelligent, alert, athletic, and eager to engage with her surroundings. Feist-type dogs are known for their loyalty, adaptability, and enthusiasm for life. They often enjoy staying active and thrive when given opportunities for both physical exercise and mental enrichment. Monica would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily walks and exercise Continued training and guidance Mental stimulation and enrichment Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to her emotional and physical well-being Her age makes her an excellent companion for adopters looking for a dog who has matured beyond the puppy phase while still having plenty of life, energy, and adventure ahead of her. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Like all rescue dogs, Monica may need time to adjust to a new home, routine, and environment. Patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help her settle in and become the best version of herself. Monica will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Exercise and mental stimulation Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, dogs like Monica blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Monica will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, emotional stability, proper nutrition, and daily companionship are all essential to helping Monica thrive in her future home. Monica is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
