Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Ivy #3 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Ivy #3 | 5-year-old Chihuahua mix | Gentle belly-rub queen Ivy is a sweet, shy five-year-old Chihuahua mix who is looking for a calm, loving home where she can settle in at her own pace. Weighing 22 pounds, this low-to-medium energy girl enjoys short neighborhood walks and then happily relaxes on the couch as your movie buddy. She walks nicely on leash and, while new sights and sounds can initially startle her, she adjusts well with time and reassurance and does not pull, bark excessively, or act out on walks. Ivy is almost fully house trained and does great when she can signal by standing at the door to go outside. She has been left home alone for 6–8 hours and generally does okay after some initial whining, though she can be sensitive to noises outside and may bark briefly. She is not crate trained and has not been using a kennel, as her foster wanted her to feel comfortable in her environment. This gentle girl prefers a quieter lifestyle and does best with calm, smaller dogs, as larger or very energetic dogs can make her nervous. She has not yet been tested with cats or children and seems to prefer female humans. Ivy is food-motivated, knows the command “come,” and responds well to structure and routine. She loves chewing on bones, going for walks, and is especially fond of chicken, cheese, and peanut butter bacon treats. One of her cutest traits is happily rolling over to show her belly for rubs, and when she plays, she is extremely gentle. Ivy would thrive in a peaceful, consistent home with someone who understands that she needs a little time to warm up but will reward patience with loyalty, affection, and quiet companionship.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Addie finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Addie #2 | 9-month-old mixed breed | Bouncy sweetheart with puppy energy Addie is a 9-month-old mixed-breed girl weighing about 20 pounds, with a tan coat and a fun, playful personality. She’s sweet, affectionate, and loves to cuddle once she’s comfortable. She can be a little nervous with new people at first but warms up quickly with patience, pets, and treats. She’s almost fully house trained and very close, though a few accidents can still happen, especially in a new environment. Addie signals that she needs to go out by standing at the door and even bumping her nose on the handle. On leash, she’s doing fairly well but is still working on pulling and her strong urge to chase squirrels and other small animals. Addie can be left alone for four to six hours and generally settles after some initial whining. Crate training is still a work in progress—she’ll choose to rest in her crate but gets upset when the door is closed, though she does calm down after about ten minutes. She does well when left loose in the house. She hasn’t met other dogs up close yet but shows playful interest, and the shelter reports she does well with dogs. Due to her prey drive, a home without cats is likely best. She knows basic commands like sit, down, leave it, and drop it, but consistency is key—she’s smart and a bit stubborn. Addie has medium-to-high energy and loves fetch, toys, chewies, and longer walks, but she can also relax and nap during the day. Her ideal home is with someone active, patient, and committed to continuing her training, who can give her the structure and exercise she needs to thrive.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth.
