Story
🐾 Meet Hobbes — Professional People-Greeter, Treat Enthusiast & Future Best Friend If Hobbes had a life motto, it would probably be: “There are friends I haven’t met yet… and treats I haven’t eaten yet.” Hobbes is a sweet, curious, outgoing boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He approaches life with enthusiasm, whether he’s playing with another dog, learning a new command, investigating something interesting, or simply soaking up some well-earned praise from his people. This smart boy is making great progress with housebreaking and will go to the door when he needs to potty. He already knows SIT and DOWN and is working on PAW. Hobbes absolutely loves training, and because he is very food motivated, getting his attention is usually pretty easy. Show him a treat and suddenly you have the most focused student in the room! Hobbes also does wonderfully in his kennel. Give him a treat, and he’ll head inside and settle down right away. He’s learning that his kennel is a comfortable place to relax—and he’s perfectly happy with that arrangement as long as the snack policy remains in effect. When it comes to other dogs, Hobbes is ready to play! He loves romping, roughhousing, and having a canine buddy to share his adventures with. His energy level is a wonderful medium: he’s happy to play and be active, but when the fun is over, he can settle down and relax with his people. But what may tell you the most about Hobbes happened during a recent socialization outing. Hobbes wanted to meet everyone he saw. Every new person was apparently just a friend who hadn’t been properly introduced yet. When a little girl wanted to meet him, though, Hobbes showed his especially sweet side. He sat down with her, happily soaked up all the attention she wanted to give him, and thanked her the only way he knew how—with plenty of enthusiastic puppy kisses. ❤️ That’s Hobbes: outgoing, affectionate, playful, eager to learn, and delighted to be part of whatever his people are doing. He’s looking for a forever home where someone will continue teaching him, play with him, laugh at his antics, praise him when he gets things right, and give him the love and security every dog deserves. Hobbes already seems convinced that the world is full of wonderful people. Now he just needs to meet the special person or family who will show him that one of those people is his forever person. Could that be you? 🐾❤️ All Pet Central Helps animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Story
🐾 Meet Calvin — The Thoughtful Little Genius Looking for His Forever Family Calvin may not always be the first dog to charge into a new situation—but give him a little time, and you’ll discover an incredibly sweet, smart, playful boy who has been quietly figuring everything out. Calvin tends to be a little more reserved when he first meets someone or encounters something unfamiliar. He likes to observe, think things through, and sometimes check in with the other dogs around him to see how they’re reacting. Once he decides everything is okay, though, that reserved little guy quickly starts showing his affectionate, playful personality. And once Calvin loves you, you’ve got yourself a wonderful little buddy. He is making great progress with housebreaking and will go to the door when he needs to potty. In fact, Calvin has taken things one impressive step further—he has learned to ring bells to ask to go outside! He already knows SIT and is working on DOWN, and he loves training. Calvin is also very food motivated, which means treats are both delicious snacks and highly effective negotiating tools. He enjoys praise, playing with toys, roughhousing a little, and especially playing with other dogs. He does great in his kennel, too. Offer him a treat and he’ll go inside and settle down right away. Calvin has a nice medium energy level. He’s ready for playtime when the opportunity arises, but he also knows that life doesn’t have to be one continuous puppy party. Once the playing is finished, he’s perfectly capable of settling down and relaxing. But the story that really shows just how clever Calvin is involves his foster family’s electronic doggy doorbell. Their dogs have been trained to press the doorbell when they want to come inside. Nobody sat Calvin down for an official “Introduction to Doorbell Technology” class. Instead, Calvin simply watched the other dogs. Apparently, that was enough. One day, Calvin and his brother were outside by themselves when suddenly… DING DONG! His foster family looked toward the door, and there stood Calvin, staring proudly inside as if to say, “Excuse me. I believe this is how you summon the humans?” He had figured it out entirely by watching the other dogs. 😂 That little moment perfectly captures Calvin. He’s observant, intelligent, thoughtful, and eager to learn. He may take a moment to understand a new person or situation, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet and playful personality comes shining through. Calvin is looking for a forever family that will give him a little patience when something is new, continue helping that clever brain of his grow, and give him all the love, playtime, praise, and companionship he deserves. He’s already figured out how to ring the bell when he wants the door to open. Now he just needs someone to open the door to his forever home. 🐾❤️ All Pet Central Helps animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention.
