Story
Laika is a 6.5 years old Lab and a Terrier mix weighing about 38 lbs. We adopted her more than 4 years ago from NorthEast Animal Shelter. She is a medium energy dog and very goofy! She loves squeaky toys and destroys them in minutes. She loves humans and greets everyone and asks for pets, she is however reactive to other dogs and has to be the only pet at home. We give her Farmer's dog fresh food everyday and would be ideal if she can get the same in her new home. She does get on the living room furniture and sleeps on her blankets. In the nights she sleeps in her crate. She doesn't like her nails trimmed or being given injections so we have to give her medication before we take her to vet. She is in general very lovely dog, loves to sleep next to you and will follow you everywhere. We realized our baby has dog allergies and are forced to re-home her.

Story
Pee Wee is a total sweetheart! He loves being around people, especially his housemates. He greets everyone with the same generous affection and is very comfortable meeting new people. He is a small Chi/Mountain Feist mix weighing in at 21lbs. He loves to play, and dance on his hind legs! He’s good with other dogs, especially younger dogs with lots of energy like him! He will definitely need another pup in the home. He loves to cuddle with his person or sleep under a blanket. At bedtime he wants to be in the BIG BED with his people, not in a crate or a pen. Pee Wee enjoys chewing on dog friendly appropriate chews, playing fetch and sleeping on your lap. Pee Wee is housebroken & crate trained. One HUGE plus for Pee Wee is he is SUPER smart and follows instructions like a little person! Does Pee Wee sound like he may be the right new family member for you? Please apply for him below. Meet Isabelle! Isabelle is a 7-year-old island girl from Puerto Rico with a heart as warm as the sun. So sweet, and endlessly loving, she’s the kind of dog who quietly follows you from room to room, rests her head gently on your lap, and fills your home with calm companionship. She’s past the chaos of puppyhood and enjoys life’s simple pleasures: cozy beds, relaxing strolls, soft voices, and someone to give her all the pats.Isabelle can be selective with other dogs, and she knows what and who she’s comfortable with. Because of this, she would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can feel safe, relaxed, and fully herself (wait until you see how happy she is when she gets to hog all your attention).Isabelle is considered special needs. Her medical considerations simply mean she needs a family willing to partner with their veterinarian and keep an eye on her health as she ages. She’s been diagnosed with a mild heart murmur which does not currently require any treatment. She will need a cardiology recheck in 9–12 months to keep an eye on it. Additionally, Isabelle had a benign facial mass (a trichoblastoma) that has already been removed. No further treatment is required besides monitoring the area to make sure it doesn’t regrow. She is gentle, grateful, and ready to offer boundless affection to the person who gives her the second chance she’s waited so patiently for! Isabelle has joined our extended stay program, meaning her fees are reduced to help her find her forever home!capeannanimalaid.org/dogapp
