He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves having canine playmates to wrestle and run around with. He has also been around cats and has shown that he can peacefully coexist with them. Kids are another favorite of Nugget's, and his gentle, loving temperament would make him a wonderful companion for a family. Like many puppies, he can be a little vocal during play and enjoys some typical puppy antics with his dog friends, but it's all part of his playful and friendly nature.Nugget is already off to a great start with his training. He is house trained and mostly crate trained, comfortably spending a few hours in his crate during the day. While he may let out a few whines at first, he settles down quickly and relaxes. He has started learning leash skills and has done well so far, though he is still gaining confidence and experience. Meet Susye — A Young Girl Ready for a Home of Her Own Sometimes the best dogs have the hardest beginnings. Susye’s second chance began when a Nashville Fire Department EMT realized that the homeless woman caring for her would not be leaving the hospital. He could not bear the thought of this young dog being left with nowhere to go, so he brought Susye home and made sure she was safe. For the past three months, Susye has been living with her firefighter foster dad and his four dogs. She has been a happy, peaceful addition to the family and has settled into home life beautifully. She is crate trained when needed, loves using the dog door, and enjoys spending time in the fenced backyard. Now fully vetted and spayed, Susye is turning 8 months old this month and is ready for a forever home with the stability she deserves. She weighs 43 pounds. We believe Susye may be a Feist, Rat Terrier, or Jack Russell Terrier mix, possibly with some herding breed influence. She is bright, active, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever is happening. Like many young herding and terrier mixes, she will do best with regular exercise, engagement, and continued training. Although Susye adores her foster dog siblings, they are all older. Her foster dad cannot help but think she would especially love a home with a younger, playful dog companion who can match her energy and enjoy growing up alongside her. Her firefighter foster dad also works 12-hour shifts, and caring for five dogs has become more than he can reasonably maintain long-term. Susye is loved and safe, but this was always meant to be her stepping stone—not her final destination. She would thrive with a family that can give her companionship, consistency, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to use her smart young mind. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, and another playful dog would be a big bonus. Susye has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. Batman is a male Mountain Feist/Fox Terrier mix, born about April 2025. He is sweet and loves people. Batman is neutered, healthy, and quite an easy, agreeable young man. He walks on a leash, is happy in his crate for sleeping, and is  potty trained with only some basic support in his new home. He knows how to sit and wait politely for his meals. He’s a very cute, medium sized guy, who is an uncomplicated, issue-free dog well loved and cared for in his foster home. Batman is very ready to join a new home and be someone’s dog of a lifetime. Matthew is an adorably marked Butterscotch and White  neutered Lab/Mountain Feist mix, DOB Feb. 3, 2026. Just look at the white on the tip of his tail. He is a joy, very humble and laid back. Matthew absolutely loves hugs and attention.  He plays well with his litter mates and is growing up in a loving foster home with excellent care, nutrition and litter mates, just as a puppy should. My family is heartbroken about finding me a new home. They want me to be happy and have the life I deserve. They rescued me when someone was selling me at a restaurant. Life was great but a baby came and was a toddler when the second baby followed, and I’m having difficult time with it all. They are working with kitty connection to find me the home I deserve. I am a sweet, loyal 6-year-old mixed breed looking for a calm, loving home where I can truly shine. If you’ve been searching for a devoted companion who loves to cuddle just as much as he enjoys a good game of fetch, I might be your guy. I have a wonderful medium energy level: happy to play fetch and explore, but equally content to curl up and snooze in a sunny spot. • Loves to snuggle and be near his human • Enjoys fetch and playtime • Listens well and knows “sit” (and mealtime routines!) • Walks well on harness • Is friendly with visitors after the initial hello bark • Can be left home during the day without issue — and is always happy to greet you when you return I can experience anxiety with loud bangs (like fireworks), but calming chews help me through those moments. Ideal home: I have had a harder time adjusting to life with young children and would do best in a calmer environment. Best fit: • Mature home (no apartments or condos) with no children. • No other pets • Someone who wants a close, devoted companion • A home that can give me the one-on-one attention I thrive on I may bark briefly when people arrive and prefer a quieter living environment.
