Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Luca is a 11-month-old (30lbs) sweet boy who loves life! He came to his foster home very cautious and shut down. He was timid on a leash, but has gained a lot of confidence and now loves his daily walks! He has such a happy energy and loves to explore. Luca would do amazing in a home where he could participate in family activities and live an active lifestyle. He would love a large yard where he could catch a frisbee or wrestle with another K9 companion. Luca has learned to trust his foster family, but is sometimes nervous around new people. His adoptive home would ideally have other dogs and take Luca on lots of adventures to assist him in continuing to gain confidence. He loves all other dogs he meets and is excellent with his foster family's children. Luca has the cutest short docked tail and we would love to DNA test him to see what his exact breed mix is.  Luca absolutely loves other dogs and would love to be adopted with his foster brother, Enzo. Luca has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heart worm tested, dewormed and is on flea/tick prevention. He is ready to find his forever home!  * This dog's adoption fee is $275Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. May 3, 2024, 11:15 pm

Story
Meet Sandy! This happy, little gal has the biggest smile and does she ever have something to smile about! Chained and raising a litter of puppies must have been a nighmare for Sandy! Luckily, her owners wanted better for her and her little family and asked for the help they needed. Sandy and her babies came to us and now we are going to help them find forEVER homes! At only 30-35 pounds, Sandy is the perfect size. She seems to be a fiest/lab mix but breed guesses are only guesses. She is great with all the dogs in her foster home and her tail never stops wagging. Seriously, never. She loves every person she meets, riding in cars and is basking in the joy of her new found freedom! Sandy may need some support with housetrained. She is already crate trained and is a quick learner so that should be a breeze. Sandy is also quite an olympian in the high jump and will jump a fence to get to the person she loves. If you have yard, you would just need to stay out with her and watch her or she would thrive in a home that leash walks. (No cats, please.) We are so happy that we were able to give Sandy the chance to live a good life! We hope there is an adopter out there that will make her happy ending come true! Is it you? Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA.
