Sweet, high energy hound mix looking for his forever home! Maverick is still a puppy with LOTS of puppy energy, but now is the time to socialize him into the bestest boy! He previously lived with the full age range of kiddos from toddlers to teenagers, whom he loved; plus other pups! He doesn't have experience with kitties, but has a hunting dog's drive for small critters, like rabbits, so we wouldn't recommend it. Maverick needs more focused attention than his previous owner knew they could provide with their busy household. They say he's housetrained and crate trained, so that's a win! You can visit this silly boy on our Dog Adoption Floor any time we're open! Maverick was recently in a short-term foster and this is what his foster mom had to say about him: "Maverick has not had any accidents in house [since fostering] and I would feel confident to say he is fully housebroken. He has done fantastic with kids and other dogs. He has done great with sleeping in a crate. He LOVES treats and belly rubs……. like it’s never enough.🤣 He has done great coming when called (good recall!) and responds well and redirects from negative behavior by being told 'no.'" updated 02/03/26

Meet Benito! If personality could be measured in pounds, Benito would weigh about 100. Luckily for everyone, this little guy comes in a perfectly portable 10-pound package. At just 4-5 months old, Benito is a tiny adventurer with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life. Benito is the kind of puppy who wakes up every morning ready to see what the world has to offer. Curious, confident, and full of joyful puppy energy, he approaches life with a wagging tail and a “let’s try it!” attitude. Whether he’s exploring a new toy, following you around the house, or bouncing toward a new dog friend, Benito is all in. He loves other dogs and does well with cats, although in his mind everyone he meets is a potential playmate. If there’s fun to be had, Benito plans to be part of it. And snacks? Oh yes. Benito is very food motivated, which means training potential is through the roof. He’s already working on house training and getting more comfortable in his crate, and he’s making great progress. With a little patience, consistency, and a pocket full of treats, this smart little guy will happily keep learning. As for his breed… your guess is as good as ours. What we do know is that Benito will likely stay on the petite side, but don’t let the size fool you — he’s small but mighty and has the personality to prove it. Because he’s a tiny pup with a big spirit, Benito will do best with a family that understands small dogs are still real dogs, not accessories. He’ll thrive with people who will give him structure, enrichment, playtime, and lots of love. Benito’s past may be a mystery, but his future is full of promise. Somewhere out there is a family ready to laugh at his antics, celebrate his milestones, and give this mighty little pup the forever home he deserves.
