Story
Papaya is a favorite here at the ranch. She loves to walk and smell everything. She loves to play with her best friend Tofu. She gets along with other dogs as long as there is a proper introduction. She is full of energy so she is ideal for taking on an adventure. She would be best in a home with older kids. She is very loving and always looking for rubs and treats. She is one of those dogs that just wants to have fun. She follows commands and is always willing to learn. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She can be transported anywhere in the US and Canada. ##1499373##

Story
Current Location: Bristow, VA Meet Emma – Your Built-In Best Friend 🐾 If you’re looking for a loyal companion with the perfect balance of cuddle and play, Emma is your girl. This sweet 2-year-old Brittany Spaniel weighs just under 30 pounds but has a heart big enough for the whole family. Emma is the definition of a snuggle bug—she absolutely loves being near her people, whether that’s curling up on the couch or quietly resting at your feet during movie night. She’s affectionate without being needy and settles in beautifully, even when left alone. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has a playful, friendly spirit while still being respectful of their space. (In fact, she made herself right at home and fell asleep with her foster siblings on night one—no drama, just vibes.) Cats? She’s curious but polite, happy to coexist without causing a fuss. Kids? Instant best friends. She’s gentle, calm, and content just being near them. Emma does have a bit of energy, so she’d thrive in a home with a yard or an active family who can give her space to stretch her legs and explore. When the day winds down, though, she’s all about the cuddles. She’s mostly house-trained (just a little first-night adjustment) and fully crate-trained. She’s learning her new name, Emma, but also responds to “Lady.” Emma is the total package—sweet, adaptable, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s forever companion. If you’re looking for a dog who will fit right into your home and heart, Emma is waiting to meet you. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics

Elaia-Springerdoodle female puppy, Gray Brindle & White , DOB 11-29-25 (April 2026) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Elaia came to rescue from a puppy mill/breeding operation. She's in a foster home now and looking forward to having her very own family. She's happy, willing to please and bred to be very smart and enjoy an active lifestyle. Elaia is about 20# now at 5 months. Her parents are in the 35# range, as adults. Here is what the Breed Registery say about the Sproodle: The Springerdoodle, a fun-loving dog! These hybrid canines, combine the greatest qualities of their two parent breeds. When compared to springer spaniels and poodles, Springerdoodles are similar in that they are playful, intelligent, loyal, and easy to train. The Springerdoodle is the dog for you if you're looking for a companion that enjoys socializing with people, is intelligent, active, and easygoing. They enjoy interacting with others and playing well with them. They'll get along with the mailman just as well as they do with your kids. These dogs get along well with other dogs and even cats, making them excellent choices for mixed pet families. Elaia's adoption fee is $600 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption.
