Sweet sweet Rambo!! What can we say?? ..where do we begin?  Rambo is looking for a home where he will be allowed to shine on his own time frame.  With love and patience his true personality will come out and he will be the best dog anyone could ever ask for if just given that chance.  He joined us after his owner died.  He was one of four dogs left behind, no one aware dogs were unattended.  His father died still tied to his chain.  He and his brother broke free.  When help arrived he watched his mother cut off her chain and hauled off on a catch pole, then was humanely trapped a week later, leaving his brother Ruckus behind to fend for himself alone.  Unfortunately, his mother was riddled with cancer so was put to rest at the shelter.  Rambo struggled with the shelter setting, upheaval of his life, intorductions and pepole handling.  Once his brother Ruckus was secured we went to get Rambo too.  Rambo, who had been tentative about people could not be happier to see Ruckus and their rehab began together.   We believe Rambo and Ruckus had an okay beginning, loved and cared for, maybe not the way we would like but they welcome new people nicely especially if treats or a doggy bone are involved. Rambo is a teddy bear with the most innocent soulful eyes  He enjoys his toys, especially his special balls.  He prefers stability, but will go with the flow!  He chills very nicely and would appreciate a calm home where someone is home a lot, a friend to read a book with or to watch TV.  A backyard to explore under supervision would be ideal.   He's down for an adventure and loves car rides.  He enjoys walks and adjusts well to new surroundings and outings.  He can still be tentative if people move too fast or something unexpected startles him.  Rambo has done well with some dogs, mostly female but is selective on who can be in his circle of friends but would love to be adopted with his bro Ruckus (please ask about him) but he understands that may not be possible for it would take a very very special family to welcome 2 dogs at once.  However, Ruckus is a much more subdued home body kinda guy so both makes for perfect home and out/about.  WOW!! What a great fairytale that would be!?  Can he come live with and love you??  Please pick Rambo!! Flight Risk: do not leave unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures. Must be aware of open doors and windowsTo adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1338938##

What can we say?? ..where do we begin?  Ruckus is looking for a home where he will be allowed to shine on his own time frame.  With love and patience his true personality will come out and he will be the best dog anyone could ever ask for if just given that chance.  He joined us after his owner died.  He was one of four dogs left behind, no one aware dogs were unattended.  His father died still tied to his chain.  He and his brother broke free.  When help arrived he watched his mother cut off her chain and hauled off on a catch pole then his brother trapped.  He was the last one left and was often seen sleeping on or next to his dad's body.  Gratefully a concerned neighbor reached out and we developed a plan to get him safe.  Unfortunately, his mother was riddled with cancer so was put to rest at the shelter.  His brother had also been taken to the shelter and was not doing well.  We picked his brother up and started the healing process for both.  That reunion was something else.  Ruckus went from scared, withdrawn and aloof to free.  Rambo, who had been tentative about people could not be happier to see Ruckus and their rehab began together.   We believe Ruckus and Rambo had an okay beginning, loved and cared for, maybe not the way we would like but they welcome new people nicely especially if treats or a doggy bone are involved. Ruckus is a teddy bear with the most innocent soulful eyes  Ruckus likes stability, nothing wrong with that!  He chills very nicely and would appreciate a calm home where someone is home a lot, a friend to read a book with or to watch TV.  A backyard to explore under supervision would be ideal.   He's a homebody as new/busy situations make him a bit nervous.  Eventually leashed walks around the block or  where it isn’t too busy could be enjoyable. He doesn’t need to go shopping, or to community/neighborhood events.. Ruckus can probably be talked into a ride in the car to a quiet cabin in the mountains with his favorite person who would give him quick leashed potty breaks… that’s all he would require. Sounds like the perfect easy dog, right?!  Ruckus would really really love to be chosen along with his brother Rambo (please ask about him) but he understands that may not be possible for it would take a very very special family to welcome 2 dogs at once.  However, Rambo is a much more outgoing and adventerous guy so both makes for perfect home and out/about.  WOW!! Story
Brookie was rescued from the Riverside Shelter as a stray where she arrived with an injured hip, likely from getting hit by a car. She received the surgery she needed and is now recovering in a foster home. Brookie will be ready for adoption closer to the end of May or early June. We believe she is around 2 years old and a Lab and Flat Coated Retriever mix. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Brookie, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps. Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing. Story
Demie ended up at a shelter when she hopped her family's 3 foot fence and they did not want to take her back. She is a gorgeous girl with long flowing black and white fur, kind brown eyes, and a gentle, sweet heart. She is around 5 years old and we believe she is a mix of Border Collie, Flat Coated Retriever and Spaniel. She is housetrained and gets along with other dogs and with kids. She is also nonreactive around cats. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Demie, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! Story
Meet Chooba! I'm pretty sure he's a flat coated retrievr. He’s a friendly dog who REALLY enjoys being around children. Chooba also gets along great with other dogs and is great about sharing his toys. His favorite toys are tennis balls, he goes crazy for them when they're launched with a flinger! He's super fast and energetic, and loves to run alongside a bicycle. Chooba is very attached to his human friends and likes to stick close by. Chooba is not very food motivated and is potty trained. He'd make a perfect addition to a family with 3 or 4 kids who love to play and have fun outdoors.

Meet your New Best Friend! If you would like to reserve this doggie and have us bring them to the event of your choice for you to meet first, you can do so by paying a non-refundable deposit of $50 to our Venmo or Zelle account (619-918 2142 in the name of Amazing Dogs; pls indicate your telephone number). This deposit will go towards the adoption fee. After receipt of your deposit, we will confirm your reservation and list the doggie on our website as ‘Pending Adoption’. If you decide not to adopt one of our Amazing Dogs, the $50 is considered a compensation for the transportation costs. All our doggies come with their health record and have received all necessary medical care, which includes (but is not limited to) all vaccines, de-wormer, anti-flea/tick medication, microchip and of course spay/neuter surgery. Our adoption fee is $500. Only in California, the fee for babies under a year old is $600. Please consider this not as a price you pay for the doggie, but as a (tax-deductible) donation to our charity, so we can continue our work and take care of the 250+ dogs in our shelter.
