Story
Braxon has been hoping to run and play again ever since he was found laying by a road in Long Beach. He was hit by a car and left to die until a kind human picked him up and drove him to the shelter. Within a day, Labs and More rushed to save him driving him directly to our vet where he got immediate care and surgery the following day. Through it all, Braxon was nothing but a sweet and kind boy even enduring extreme pain. Braxon is about a year old and is estimated as beautiful Flat Coated Retriever mix. He is stunning, kind, loving, and a happy playful boy. It has been a long healing journey for him after repairing his back leg in two places and he was confined to rest for 2 months. Over the past few weeks he has been able to go on walks, play a bit and enjoy the backyard which has made him a much happier boy. Braxon is house and crate trained, takes treats gently, loves to learn, and is good on leash. He loves other dogs and is eager to play and is pretty good engaging in playtime. He is an early riser and will go right outside to do his business and then anxiously awaits breakfast. He would love a home with a family who is home more often than not. Another dog would also be ideal for him. Exercise will be key to his success and his mental wellbeing. We go on daily walks and he has playtime several times in the yard. He loves toys and bones and sitting near you to watch his favorite dog training show!!! He is a bit timid when new people first walk up but within a few seconds he sniffs and leans in for attention. He has a gentle soul with a playful spirit. He will need to learn additional commands and gain some more public experiences. Whoever adopts Braxon will need a yard, time to dedicate to him, and a big heart. He should avoid long hikes, wrestling with other dogs, and running in the sand at the beach for now as he continues to recover. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Braxon, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps.
