Story
Meet Bart! Bart is a 3-year-old Flat-Coated Retriever (62 lbs) who is up to date on all vaccines and currently working on building confidence through training. He has a sensitive nature and can be unsure of new people at first, so slow, structured introductions are essential for him to feel safe.  While he does well with dogs, we are looking for a home where he will be your only puppy love. Because of this, Bart is looking for an *experienced* adopter who is committed to participating in training sessions before bringing him home, so he can build trust gradually. His trainers will also support the transition to set both Bart and his adopter up for success. Bart would do best in a calm, suburban or country home with adults only. Once he feels comfortable, this fella is incredibly loyal and forms a strong bond with his person. With patience, consistency, and continued training, he will make a deeply rewarding companion. Bart can’t wait to meet you!  He is waiting in boarding for his perfect forever home.  He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. To foster to adopt Bart apply at www.peace4paws.org/foster-application on a laptop or computer. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Bixie! Bixie is a typical Lab mix puppy at just 3 months old and 8 pounds. She loves to play, is curious about everything, and settles right down when it's time for cuddles. Bixie is looking for a family of dog lovers who will provide the continued training and guidance she needs while showing her just how wonderful she is. She recently learned to go up the stairs and is always excited to explore the garden. Bixie does her business in the backyard and zooms around whenever she gets the chance! At night, Bixie may occasionally have an accident in her crate, but she is learning and making progress. She enjoys a mix of boiled meat and vegetables with kibble, and she loves treats like apples, carrots, and celery. She's still discovering all the delicious foods the world has to offer. Bixie also loves puzzle feeders and anything that challenges her mind. Mental exercises are just as exciting to her as playtime! Bixie is being fostered in Port Reading, NJ, and her adoption fee is $575. Meet Bela! Bela is a 3-month-old, 8-pound Lab mix with a white-tipped tail, white socks on her hind legs, and a beautiful full white chest. Right now, playing and exploring are at the center of her universe. Unlike her siblings, Bela isn't much of a zoomie pup—instead, she prefers to observe her humans and the world around her. She loves bouncy rubber balls and anything that makes a sound. Bela is still learning how to be the most wonderful companion and friend. Cuddles, puzzle toys, and any kind of mental enrichment quickly capture her interest. She is always eager to experience something new, from her first tastes of apples and watermelon to smelling herbs and seeing bunnies and birds for the very first time. Bela deserves the love and devotion of a true dog lover. With her gentle nature and wonderful disposition, she is sure to make an incredible addition to a forever family. Story
This is a Courtesy Post-Please Conact Laurie frankg4@optonline.net if you have a furever home for Daisy. When Daisy looks at you with her big brown eyes, it is hard to say "no" to her! She is a happy dog with people but something of a bossypants with other dogs, so Daisy would do better as an only dog. She is about 10 years old and still spry and healthy; she loves to go outside and walks well on the leash. She is house-trained and knows "sit", "lie down", and "come" commands. Daisy is a city girl who came from Brooklyn, where her owner couldn't take care of her due to illness. She weighs 60 lbs. and is no longer interested in toys or chewing. Usually quiet at home, she will bark to alert her family to the presence of others, but enjoys meeting people. She loves our neighbor's kids and they love her. They are older elementary and middle school age….I haven't had a chance to see how she is with younger children. Daisy wants to be the only dog in her home, she likes seeing other dogs outdoors. At her foster home she has gotten used to living with a cat.She also just stares at us if she wants something. She has such cute eyes! If you want a dog to snuggle with on the couch, or to just hang out while she sleeps on her dog bed, Daisy is the dog for you. Daisy is up-to-date on all her shots, we believe she is spayed, and has just had her teeth cleaned. Please contact Laurie at frankg4@optonline.net for more information about Daisy.

Story
Romeo is also still waiting for his happily-ever-after, and if dogs could make wish lists, his would probably be simple: a soft bed, a family to love, and someone to finally tell him, “You’re home.” While other dogs have come and gone, Romeo continues to greet each day with quiet kindness and a hopeful wag of his tail. He may be a little shy at first, but once he trusts you, he becomes the kind of loyal companion who never wants to leave your side. Romeo and his brother Ranger grew up around kids, dogs, and cats and have only ever known love from the family who raised them. Sadly, their owners could no longer afford to care for them or get them properly vetted, but despite all the changes in their lives, these boys have remained incredibly sweet and gentle. They’re lower-energy dogs who enjoy lounging around just as much as a romp in the yard. They’ve kenneled with dogs of all sizes without issue and are often used as “temperament test” dogs because they stay calm and non-reactive. Romeo is leash-trained, great in the car, neutered, fully vaccinated, about 2 years old, lab mix and he is ready for a home of his own. Romeo and Ranger have also gone on outings with volunteers and have done wonderfully meeting new people and other dogs. The shelter truly believes that once they’re in loving homes, their sweet personalities will blossom even more. All Romeo needs now is someone willing to give a longtime shelter dog the chance he’s been patiently waiting for. 🐾. Romeo or Ranger can be fostered or adopted to separate homes. If you have a foster or furever home for this pet, please e-mail Furever Home Dog Rescue at FureverHomeDogRescue@gmail.com and request an adoption application. The breed and age of this pet is listed as is our best guess. We have no background info on who the mom and dad are. Please note we do not adopt puppies/dogs to homes where they will be left alone all day. We do not have a shelter facility you can visit. Our volunteers foster the dogs and pups in their homes once they have been vetted and transported here to FHDR. Please read our homepage www.fhdr.petfinder.com to read how the adoption process works. Story
Bruce Wayne is a handsome 5–6 month old pup weighing approximately 30 pounds who is searching for his forever family. Bruce is an exceptional young dog with so much to offer. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows several commands, including sit, stay, down, and paw. He is incredibly intelligent, eager to learn, and picks up new skills quickly. He earned the name Bruce Wayne because, like Batman, he relies on brains, awareness, and determination rather than superpowers. He is always paying attention and figuring things out. Bruce is a high-energy, active puppy who thrives on exercise, play, and adventure. He loves playing fetch and frisbee, enjoys running and exploring, and would do best with an active family that can keep both his body and mind engaged. Whether it's daily walks, hikes, trips to the park, or backyard games, Bruce is happiest when he's part of the action. This friendly boy loves other dogs and enjoys making new canine friends. Despite his energetic nature, he also has a sweet, affectionate side and is happy to curl up next to you for a nap after a fun-filled day. Bruce walks nicely on a leash, rides beautifully in the car, and is always ready to be your adventure buddy. One of his cutest habits is patiently sitting in his crate and waiting politely for his meals. Between his wonderful manners, loving personality, impressive intelligence, and just look at those irresistible ears that stand straight up, Bruce is sure to steal your heart. Bruce's family loved him very much, but due to unexpected financial and work-related challenges, they made the difficult decision to surrender him to FHDR so he could have the life and opportunities he deserves. If you're looking for a smart, loyal, affectionate companion and have an active lifestyle to share, Bruce Wayne may be the perfect addition to your family! ❤️🐶 If you have a furever home for this pet, please e-mail Furever Home Dog Rescue at FureverHomeDogRescue@gmail.com and request an adoption application.
