Story
Delilah is a 3- or 4-year-old Lab cross. She was found as a pregnant stray in Sandoval County, had her puppies the morning after she came into the shelter and raised 11 pups in foster care. The puppies are weaned now, and they and Delilah are moving toward their forever homes. Delilah likes taking naps, hanging out in the backyard, wrestling with her foster brother and chomping on chews. She gets along well with other dogs, as long as they're not near her food. She is food aggressive toward dogs -- but not humans -- so she'll need to be fed in a separate room from any other dogs. Delilah's docile and obedient with humans and often stays calm when the other dogs in her foster home are barking. She's good at taking her bathroom business outside, although she can't go for a whole work day without a potty break. She may chew things that don't belong to her if she's left alone or if she needs to go outside but no one is home to open the door. She's afraid of leashes, and so will need more work to get comfortable walking on one. She's very reserved when first meeting a new person, but will show affection once she warms up to someone. She was accepting of kids the one time she met some while in foster care. Unknown on cats. Please note that Delilah is an accomplished escape artist who will need to go out on a leash or have a secure yard with a metal or cinder block/rock fence at least four feet high, as she can jump 3-1/2 feet easily, open unlocked gates and chew through wooden fences. ##1609636##

Story
Hi, there! My name is Candy!  I'm looking for my forever home. I was adopted as a puppy but returned a few months ago because I have more energy than my adopter could handle. I’m a very lovable and affectionate dog. Very curious about everything, but very cautious. I'm playful, and I can teach other dogs how to play. I won't chew your belongings -- I'm a good girl that way. I’m very eager to learn new things. When I know I’m doing something right, I’m very proud of myself.  I really love to be outside and talk to the neighborhood dogs. I would really like to go visit them, so if I can't do that, you may need to keep an eye on me or have a tough fence.  I play hard during the day and crash hard at night. If you set your alarm for the morning and take too long to stop it, I will wake you up. I don't want you to be late for work! I love to meet new people, but tend to jump on people. I’m still very young, not yet two, and I'm trying to learn how to be social with humans.  I can be food-driven, and I'll learn new things for the pleasure of a treat. I love ice. I don’t like when other dogs get aggressive over food or toys. If I smell food, I will follow my nose, and not understand if the other dog might not want to share. If I eat in a different room from another dog, then we can both be happy. If you’re watching a dog show, I might just watch it with you. In conclusion, I’m looking for an active or outdoorsy family, couple or individual -- people who love to hike, run or play. I'll be your best exercise buddy ever! I would be perfect with young dogs that I can learn with. I’m house-trained and crate-trained, and I'm already fixed. I would benefit from training on leash manners.  I will be waiting for you! If you want to meet me, please fill out the application at https://petstablished.com/adoptions/personal-information?application_type=Adopt&donation_section=false&form_id=25570&form_type=generic&generic_form_id=25570&pet_id=784735&section=1&selected_pets=false. ##1454171##

Story
Meet Dobby! You may remember him as a tiny puppy...he is one of mama Perdi's 9 puppers!  Life happened and he is back with us hoping to find his people.  Meet Dobby! You may remember him as a tiny puppy. He was one of a litter of nine who's still-pregnant mom was rescued from the euthanasia list in Clovis at the last minute. He's now about 2 and looking for a long-term foster or foster-to-adopt home. He was returned once because his adopters were moving and again more recently because he wasn't getting along with certain regular guests and would stress when his family left the house. We think he's a Lab/border collie cross. Dobby is neutered, house-trained and crate-trained. He has decent manners on a leash with a front-clip harness, although he can still polish his manners in that department. He also knows the command "sit." Dobby is cheerful and affectionate. He loves woman, children and other dogs. He wants to play and play with other dogs, and then cuddle up with his human for pets and relaxation. He's selective about which men and teenage boys he gets along with. Our best guess is that his issues arose from fear or a herding instinct, and we'll pay for training to help him understand how to interact with human males. He's generally easy-going, food-motivated and eager to see his humans happy, so we think he'll respond well to training. He thinks all cats are for chasing, so we don't recommend that he go to a home with felines. Dobby likes going on walks, chomping on his chew toys and rough-housing with his canine foster siblings. He politely refrains from chewing on his human's belongings. He does bark when the human leaves, but he seems to eventually move on after expressing his displeasure. Dobby will make a wonderful, loving companion for someone. ##1492311##
