Story
MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Rusty is a 3-year-old Retriever/Hound mix with a heart as warm as his handsome copper coat. While he may have started out a little timid, this sweet boy has truly blossomed. Each day he grows more confident, more trusting, and more deeply bonded to his people. Rusty is the definition of loyal. If you leave the room, he’s right behind you. If you leave the house, you might hear a little whine letting you know he already misses you. He’s becoming the most adorable little shadow — and he wears the title proudly. This smart boy is eager to please and incredibly trainable. He already knows “sit,” walks nicely on leash (with just a little polishing needed), and is both crate-trained and potty-trained. With consistency and kindness, Rusty could learn just about anything — he truly wants to get it right. Rusty does well with other dogs and kids. He hasn’t met cats yet. He loves treats (who doesn’t?!) and is a true toy connoisseur — plushies, squeakers, balls… he appreciates them all and will happily show off his collection. When playtime winds down, you’ll likely find him curled up in the nearest dog bed, carefully selected Goldilocks-style until he finds the perfect one. Because Rusty has likely experienced some tough moments in his past, he can be sensitive to loud voices. He thrives in a calm, patient home where he feels safe and understood. In return, he gives the sweetest kisses, the gentlest affection, and a loyalty that runs deep. Rusty isn’t just looking for a home — he’s looking for his person. Someone who wants a devoted companion, a gentle soul, and a best friend who will follow them anywhere. If you’re ready for unconditional love (and a very cute shadow), Rusty is ready for you. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com Meet Chelsea — a sweet, golden-hearted senior looking for her forever home. Chelsea is a 10–12-year-old Golden mix who proves that age is just a number. This older gal still has plenty of joy left to share, especially when there’s snow to play in, a stuffed toy to toss around, or a good game of tug-of-war on the agenda. She’s a social lady who gets along well with other dogs and cats. She hasn’t been tested with children yet, so we’re not sure how she’d feel about tiny humans. Chelsea isn’t a big cuddler, but she truly loves being near her people—content to hang out in the same room and soak up your presence. Chelsea does have some hearing loss, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She’s potty trained and crate trained, and she’s currently working on polishing her leash manners. With a little patience and consistency, she’ll keep improving. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who enjoys playtime, peaceful togetherness, and snowy adventures, Chelsea might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to bring warmth, companionship, and a whole lot of heart into her next chapter.
