Story
Good things don't ALWAYS come in small packages. Meet Odie, a 69 pound yellow lab/ hound mix who sports white leggings and an ever-wagging tail. Just like Garfield's doggy buddy in the comic strip, this Odie is super loveable, good natured, friendly, silly, loyal, fun-loving, and sometimes a bit goofy. At just shy of 2 years old, he is quite an athlete--is that Odie standing on top to the picnic table?? In his quieter moments, Odie is a sun-worshipper who enjoys bird and squirrel watching while relaxing outside and TRIES to be a lap dog inside. Having him close by in the yard helps his foster mom's weeding chores seem pleasant--well, almost! His foster family laughs when Odie is in the kitchen and he stares out the window--they just aren't quite sure what is grabbing his attention! Odie is house-and crate-trained, micro-chipped, neutered, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. He gets along with all the other dogs who live with his foster family--especially the other foster dog Danny who is a favorite playmate. Odie's bags are packed (yep--with an Eagles logo) and he is ready to settle in with a forever family who can't wait to spend fall with a new buddy. PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 30, 2026, 12:10 pm
