Duke is a [age] old hound with the heart of a guardian and the soul of a survivor. He was found in the Everglades bravely protecting two small dogs—his unlikely little pack. There’s no doubt Duke kept them safe in such a dangerous environment, and now this loyal boy deserves someone to protect and love him. When Duke first arrived at the shelter, he was scared and unsure, but each day he opens up a little more and adores his human friends. He greets us with tail wags and even hugs! He ignores most other dogs so would be happy to be the only pet in a home. He lives for tennis balls and stuffed toys! Duke is quiet, house-trained, and full of potential. He’s looking for a patient, loving home where he can finally feel safe and cherished. He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Duke is currently being treated for Heartworm, but Abandoned Pet Rescue will continue to provide this medical care until fully treated. Could you be the hero Duke’s been waiting for? Story
Lucky was found on the streets of west Kendall. Skin on one of his paws was loose/flapping from being on the street so long. Didn't have the heart to take him to the shelter but I am moving and cannot take him with me. Have had him little over a year. Vet thinks he's 4-5 years old. He's very energetic. Seems to be extremely trainable. He escapes from my yard so I have a gps color to keep tabs on him. Loves walks, playing and relaxing outside in the yard. Other than that an inside dog. He's super sweet.

Meet Salem. This sweet puppy is looking for a home who can care and provide the proper structure, routine and consistency every puppy deserves to succeed. She has begun her journey with potty training and is doing very well. She adores affection and is very playful. She loves other dogs. She is a mix and not dna tested so can not confirm exact breeds. She definitely has basset hound in her. She is extremely smart! She has not been cat tested, but given her age she can definitely be taught to live with cats.
